Chicken fingers with plum sauce from m&m's :)
Roasted chicken legs and I made a citrus (orange/lemon) to go with it.
I shredded up some brussels sprouts and made roasted potatoes along side the chicken!
The leg looks dark, but rest assured it was super juicy :")
Since were leaving to go on holidays Sunday - the fridge is pretty bare bc I wanted to get everything out of there so have been making stuff with what we have all week.
Tonight we will get Whole Foods pizza, with basil pesto as the sauce, grilled veggies, mushrooms and spinach and feta as the cheese! YUM
Not a clue what to do today - but if there are any leftovers in my fridge then they need to go as i need the room for tomorrow when we are "doing" Christmas.
I haven't cooked in a few days now. This cold/flu thingy had kicked me right in the butt. Yesterday I had 4 cups of tea with lemon and honey, but I didn't eat a thing, I tried but couldn't. I feel so bad for dh, he's been fending for himself. Last night he found some cabbage rolls in the freezer, so he popped them in the oven and ate them with some bread and he was happy.
Going to have a shower and hopefully feel a bit better, at least well enough to cook for my man tonight! Something easy and quick, maybe do some chicken breasts and some rice. Have to see how I'm feeling this afternoon.
^I hope you are on the mend, Holly. My husband is just getting over a cold too. I was crossing my fingers that I didn't get it, the family would be in the same boat...seems I'm the only one who can put together a decent meal.
I made homemade hamburgers and oven fries for supper yesterday.
Thanks marstec, that burger looks amazing :)
Nothing fancy tonight. Just spaghetti and meatballs.
nothing fancy here either... vegetable soup and grilled cheese. i think i might make hamburgers tomorrow now that ive seen that!
Breaded boneless pork(baked), scallopped cheddar potatoes with bacon, and steamed broccoli!
Lazy girl dinner (busy prepping for my Chistmas dinner this Saturday!)
Buffalo wings from Olymel, oven fries and garlic green beans.
We're making pepper steak (his fave, but I don't have his Moms recipe so it's always a toss up whether it will turn out "right" to him), served with rice and steamed broccoli.
^^^ change of plans... pepper steak will be tomorrow nights dinner. Tonight will be pita pizzas.
bbq'd honey garlic sausages, some creamy noodles and broccoli.
I made bbq ribs...boiled the ribs until tender and then finished them off on the bbq with sauce. Served with rice and green beans.
Prob leftovers for dinner. I am more excited for lunch at Crabby Joe's! Don't eat out often but when I do I feel like a little girl all over again!
I'm finally feeling good enough to make an actual meal for my dh today. Not sure what it's going to be yet, but I'll invest some time in it today, maybe a nice roast beef dinner for him.
making a prime rib roast
Last night I made a hot and sour soup and it was DELISH!!!:P:P:P
Leftovers for tonight but I stocked up (and I mean STCOKED UP) on groceries yesterday in the US.
One of my BIL's had a heartattack on Friday afternoon/evening and we went to visit him in the hospital and since we were down there we did a big shop. Now I don't have to shop until the new year!!!
The upcoming meals will be roasted whole chicken, turkey meatballs, more hot and sour soup :P, butter chicken,etc.... the list goes on and on ;)
I never used to boil them, but awhile back tried it for half an hour before the oven/grill. Good results, did it again last night! After boiling, I did a rub of brown sugar, chipotle powder, minced garlic, mustard powder, salt and pepper, brush with bbq sauce toward the end and put on broil Yum!
I LOVE hot and sour soup, care to share your recipe?
French Onion Soup & my favourite Spinach Salad.
(might have to test a few of the Christmas cookies too)
Thank you to everyone on this thread for the wonderful pictures & recipes that have been inspiring & very impressive too. I wish you all a Merry Christmas & wonderful things in 2013.

steamed brussel sprouts, perogies and pork chops.
I tried brussel sprouts again awhile back, after declaring them icky about 20+ years ago. I'm afraid I wasn't able to convince myself (or my family) that they were edible! :)
Last night was crunchy oven baked chicken pieces, potatoes, and carrots.
Tonight is Christmas Eve supper, Ukrainian style... can't wait!
Tonight is a smorgasbord at my aunts house (used to be at my Nannie's but she is 83, lives on her own still and is battling cancer for the third time in her life, so we changed venues and now she just needs to show up, chauffeured style). There are about 40 of us there and counting (lots of the grandchildren (25 - 35 y/o) have baby bumps). So we have ham, roast beef and pork loin because we all end up having turkey tomorrow. Then, carrots, potatoes, squash, turnip, peas, bread/rolls. And the sweets! We end up with an entire table of sweets (I made Skor bar squares... my Mom made strawberry shortbread squares... who knows what else will be there, but loads of pies!). The only thing that sucks is it's an hour and a half drive each way.
i'm making oven baked chicken thighs for lunch
dinner will do left-over prime rib roast
Last night was a delish stew:P
I also made 60+ turkey meatballs and have enough turkey leftover for close to another 60 but will make some hot and sour soup with it.
Tonight will be an early dinner/late lunch and I will make bacon, eggs, waffles and hashbrowns when my mom gets off work. She loves bacon and it's always gone before she gets home.
