Well Loblaws had there pink stickers on some meats again, 30% off stickers.....so I got 2 huge slabs of ribs for under $17.00, pressure cooked them up well to soften, then slathered my NO Salt honey mustard sauce on a few, made the rest regular BBQ, and roast pan in the oven @ 400 degrees till they were mouth watering tender.
Made DD 2 GF pizzas ( she's not too much a rib girl) and we had a new brand of basmati rice ( Neesa Iconic Rice it says) and a huge pan of sauteed vegetables.
Of course eating dinner around 4:00 p.m. is very tough on me to stay out of the kitchen later. lol
Tonight for dinner was Swiss Chalet, between the cold weather and the fact we both had to work today and go shopping after work we went for take out. Felt Swiss Chalet was the best "healthiest" Option.
We really are trying to have less take-out but it is so hard, we are great if one of us is home all day or if only one of us is home but when both us work during the day and are home for dinner we never seem to get dinner made. Maybe next week............
Supper tonight will be leftover soup - there's a full pot! Hopefully, I'll make some biscuits to go with, and if anyone is hungry for something else, there are always sandwiches!

It was an empty the fridge kind of day, so I roasted two whole chickens (which were marinated with Club House La Grill MTL rub) and and used up a bag of corn meal for corn bread.
There was bok choy someone had purchased but not cooked, so I sautéed those with garlic and chicken broth.
One chicken was for dinner, the other for roast chicken salad!
It was super juicy!

I decided to clean the top fridge freezer completely out! So today's lunch and dinners will be a mystery once all those various frozen blobs thaw. I know i am safe, I don't freeze things that did not taste good first time served, I actually think I see stuffed peppers there. I know once it is all warmed up it will taste fresh, they will be none the wiser here! lol
Checked the freezer and nothing that will please the whole family so it's either meatless thursday(I have been wanting to have this for awhile but living with all males they like their meat:()or I can use prepared sauce thats in the freezer. Can't quite remember what's in it most likely ground beef.
last night was frozen pizza and salad. blech, this is the last time i think i use frozen pizza. i usually buy the flatbread from costco and we make our own but i didnt have any pizza sauce. it was so greesy and just plain frozenpizza tasting.
tonight is turkey meatballs, rice and some broccoli. maybe claire and i will make some strawberry jello for their dessert.
question: my dh raves about a yakisoba (sp?) dish that he gets at the cafe at his work. does anyone know any good recipies for this or where to buy the noodles?? i've looked at 3 different stores for soba noodles but i cant find anything. tips would be greatly apprecited!! i'd love to try this out!
for lunch, i made breaded pork chops.... served with leftover gravy, rice and salad.
to night is KFC. Going sledding, who wants to cook after that?
Left over beef stew with crackers, yum yum
I was lazy with the cold today so I made ground beef cooked with gravy, mashed patatoes, macaron salads, cheese and tomatoes
Apple tart for dessert.
Rootbeer pot roast, mashed potatoes, steamed asparagus and peas.
Yum, kw.... my son has been lusting after roast beef, so we bought a roast last night, will have tomorrow. Honestly, it's been months and months.
I tried RB once, and cola, didn't really like it.
BUT, I put orange CPlus in my rib sauce the other day, that freaked out my son!
Tonight will be baked fish, pasta of some sort, and salad.
Last night's freezer surprise dinner was good. Contents of the containers were varied. I just put everything on the table once I mixed and matched the items.
We had GF lemon chicken over leftover basmati rice, GF seafood penne with marinara sauce and leftover sauteed veg added, 6wbmo diet cabbage rolls, GF breaded pork loin chops, GF breaded thin sliced chicken breast.
Amazing there was quite a bit of food there, now the freezer is a bit more manageable.
I baked a bit this morning ( woke up around 3:30 a.m.) Wanted to try to find recipes for my chick pea flour, made a loaf of bread ( without the machine), some onion rings and sweet potato fritters, along with 12 muffins, 6 cheese, and 6 pumpkin.
We better make salad tonight to go with the pork chops and chicken just to get some fresh raw goodness going on the table.
I am trying somethng new for dinner today.
I will wrap uncooked bacon around the inner circle of muffin pans, put a couple of uncooked scrambled eggs in the middle, cook for 15 minutes and then put cheese on top and cook an additional 10 minutes. We will have this with english muffins and hashbrowns on the side, should be iinteresting.
Looks good from pinterest anyways...:-)
Craiger, I make something similar - I put a tsp of chili sauce on the bottom, then crack a whole egg in, a tsp of melted butter over each, salt and pepper, then bake in oven. Haven't done it for ages, they are awesome!
yum that egg / bacon thing sounds delish. i saw a thing on pinterest for a crockpot breakfast - cooks overnight so everthing is ready in the a.m. if i remember correctly it was a layer of frozen hashbrowns, eggs, cut up bacon, peppers & onions and another layer of hashbrowns etc etc. hot diggity it was so delish in the morning when we had company over!!
anyway, tonight is not so exciting. my fridge is almost empty and i dont want to take 2 kids to the grocery store this afternoon so it's going to be grilled cheese sandwich and broccoli soup with some shredded cheese on top. its pretty windy/snowy here so that should warm us up!
Porkchops!
Tonight's dinner will be glazed ham (leftover from out of the freezer) Homemade Mac and Cheese (leftovers in the firdge) and so form of veggies, eithr broccolli and cauliflower or mixed green and yellow beans.
@Natalka
8oz of Rootbeer
5oz of Ketchup
1-2 tsp of minced garlic
mix and pour over a salt and pepper rubbed roast
My hubby loves it...but he has a sweet tooth...Your rib sauce sounds delish...I may have to experiment with that, DH is not found of ribs though. I might be able to convince him if he knows pop is in the sauce's recipes! Gah! Our men!
tonights dinner is couldn'ts (COULDN'T get RID OF THAT)

Chicken Spaghetti with cheese and ''quiche'' on the side.
Apple Tart or remaining piece of Black forest cake:)
Tonight I am doing a stuffed chicken breast with peas, corn, and homemade biscuits that I made around 4...I had to venture to the bulk barn in the snow after work to get baking powder since the stuff at the grocery store had an expiry date for this year and I knew I wouldn't go through that much in time, so these biscuits better have been worth my troubles! If not the Valentine's candy that just happened to end up in bags and in my shopping bag should do the trick :p
turkeyt, 'baked' potatoes (potatoes wrapped in tin foil) in a crockpot, green beans
I just cooked a nice beef roast, baked potatoes and boiled carrots for supper.
Kraft spirals and 2 potatoes for me.
Also enjoyed half a can of root beer and strawberries for dessert.
Craving peanuts!
Chili and tea biscuits
Shake and Bake Chix., Scallopped Potatoes with bacon and lots of onions, glazed baked carrots. House smells soooo good. Can't wait :) :) Have a great weekend everyone :) :)
son and his gf made a delicious home made pizza - yummm
