made my signature sweet and sour pork!
Yesterday we went to Montana's, me and mom split a Cesar Salad, Cookhouse platter (4 cheese spinach dip, potato skins, and garlic cheese bread) and an order of deep friend pickles. Never had deep fried pickles before, they were ok but think I would have preferred a tempura style batter instead of bread crumbles.
Tonight's dinner, no idea yet, will post once we figure it out.
Ours is a family recipe and I don't measure when I cook it.
Finn and Haddi
I start with a chopped onion, cook until browned.
add extra butter, add flour and cook.
add frozen peas.
Then add as much milk as you want to make the white sauce (I make ours pretty thick).
add a little pepper.
Then when it is almost done, add canned tuna or salmon (whichever is on hand, or the one you prefer) and cook until heated threw.
I always serve it with fresh baked biscuits.
You can make pancakes or muffins and freeze them for later use-even if the milk you use is sour they are fine.
i also made oven baked trout with cremini mushrooms.
For lunch today I made Pillsbury crescent rolls that were rolled up with cheese, and tomato soup. Dinner - I don't know yet!
My supper was terrible since I worked from 1-8...I had a donut and muffin for "supper"...Made poutine when I got home with the left over gravy I had but I still consumed a fair bit of junk food today LOL!
I made yummy greek salad with no olives. Feta, romaine, cucumber, tomato, and red onions!
I used bottled kraft olive oil dressing. It was so greasy and weird tasting at first no amount of shaking could help. I found the secret is to stick it in the magic bullet for a few seconds to really blend it all together.
Mmm. I hate salads but I think this is going to be a new favorite.
Tonight will be slowcooker chili.
I made hamburgers and fries for supper last night.
For today there is butternut squash soup, and beef cubes with carrots and mashed potato, the theres a Paska bread for dessert with a orange icing.
Heres what my bread looks like ,the recipe is from Menonite girls can cook.

This was Saturdays dinner. It had both grilled and fresh tomatoes, grilled green onions,Tillamook cheese on a fresh brioche bun :P
Last night was Butter "chickpea" with rice and Raita on the side.
harbie?? how did you bite into that monster!? lol Looks awesome. ^^^
harbie, you are my hero! That looks FAB, drooooool! :)
Tonight I am making the Bruschetta Chicken recipe from the Kraft site..I have made a few times before and I like it...I usually make it on the BBQ but it has started to rain here now so I will have to wait and see if it stops raining or make something different. If you ever try this recipe on the BBQ use aluminum foil at the end to put the topping on the chicken, otherwise it really mucks up the BBQ. Oh, and don't use non-stick aluminium foil--it catches on fire. Been there!
Tonight I decided to eat relatively healthy after my junk food supper last night. I did homemade fries with garlic and oregano sprinkled on top and some mixed veggies on the side. I over did the potatoes so that I have leftovers for supper tomorrow night to do with chicken strips since I have a job interview and need to leave at 5pm to make it in time, so will have to throw something together quick tomorrow for supper when I get home from the interview!
last night i made some turkey meatballs with sweet and sour sauce, rice and corn.
tonight i think is a stirfry to use up some veggies in the fridge.
Tonight will be homemade soup using the rib broth from a few days ago - will make it with barley, potato, assorted veggies. Plus, leftover chili and pasta.
I don't have this below problem - I don't usually ask; they eat whatever I make, but I thought it was cute.

This wasn't dinner, but I did eat it a couple nights ago. Half a box of shrimp aps from shoppers, usually 7.99 but it was on sale for 4.99. I might buy them again on sale, they were tasty but kinda greasy.

Last night we had a homemade gluten free pizza with roasted veggies and garlic. Yesterday I also roasted some chicken carcasses I had in the freezer, and made a nice homemade broth. So tonight I'm using part of the broth with a few chicken breasts and going to roast them off and make a white wine sauce for them. I think I'll serve it along with some brown rice with quinoa and some roasted squash and cauliflower
Tonight is Take Out Night....now we just need to decide as a Family what to order.
I'll be at the hospital today while my dad FINALLY gets his surgery done *fingers crossed they don't send him home again* so most likely something easy and it'll be one of me freezer meals I pre made a while back......or maybe takeout too ;)
