Rough evening yesterday - husband went to sleep as soon as he came home from work, son went to do some volunteer construction work at the church right after work, so it wasn't til around 8 p.m. that we Whoppered ourselves, lol!
Last Night Hellman's Parm Chicken (best chicken ever) with pasta and little bit of sauce :) Mmmmm :)
For supper tonight, I made a ham stirfry - with onions, mushrooms, carrots, lotsa garlic, broccoli; will make pasta later to go with it.
Just me again tonight so something simple; prob just a plate of nachos and a glass of wine
nat- thats a good idea to use up leftover ham! i've done it panfried with some veggies (mushrooms, broccoli, onions, peppers, peas) and mixed it with white rice and shredded cheese on top. really yummy.
tonight is pizza pizza. wahoo! i bought for the first time some schneiders country naturals honey garlic wings at NF today to go with it. dh is the only 1 that likes wings and he's uber picky on them so hopefully they're ok and not too gristly.
Last night was McDonald's. Mom went out to dinner with Bro so brought me home something since I didn't make the drive to meet them after work.
Tonight who knows, will figure out shortly.
Last night it was a salmon burger with capers. Side of rice seasoned with parsley, salt, bit of butter. I sliced a fresh tomato and put some vinaigrette on it.
Turkey burgers with salad/fries!
Just Salad here tonight, was alone for dinner and way too tired to cook.
^Wish I could get away with that! I was too tired to cook too, but my family would be up in arms if supper was just a salad.
After a long day of work and an hour and a half of cooking, this was supper:
Orange chicken, salt & pepper shrimp, veggie stirfry and steamed rice.
Ditto Natalka's comments!
Had pop and chips for lunch and then some quesidillas for late supper. Yes, fast food of the pour and heat/serve variety...I know, bad for me.
@Lynne-I agree on passing on dark rye bread. Find the flavour too strong and it reminds me of why I also dislike barley (in soup or anything). Regular rye is fine, though!
@FrenchLady-love parsley flakes in my rice too. Haven't tried adding in lemon juice and butter, though.
Tonight was butternut squash ravioli which I sauteed with olive oil, garlic, and roasted red peppers. Some blueberry yogurt for desert.
Last night, fish and hashbrown patties (yay for freezer foods!), with cucumber and onion salad.
I am playing hooky again this weekend with cooking..lol..went out for dinner last night with friends...and this evening I am going out for a family birthday/dinner party..but as usual I will bring/make an appy, dessert and a bottle of wine.
made chicken breast, fresh spinach and button mushrooms, which i got on sale
will toss it with some chow mein for lunch.
It's super easy.
Soak the basmati rice for 20-30 min in cold water. After it's drained I just add an oil to the pan(evoo, coconut, whatever you want)and several very generous shakes of our fave hot sauce. Toss the rained rice in and "sautee" for a few moments and it's coated. Add warmed chix stock and add salt. Cover and cook as normal and when it's cooked and fork fluffed I add a can of fire roasted tomatos that I drained.
I usually make the rice ahead of time and then warm up in the microwave and it's perfect!
Oh ya and tonights dinner at the in laws :P:P:P
Tonight was leftover mexican food.
I am going to make split pea soup tomorrow like my grandma. I don't like stew because of the gravy, but my grandmother makes her split pea soup with beef, so it's basically the same thing. Cannot wait. :)
homemade curry rice with veggies, all mixed together. I'm crazy, the wok is completely FULL !! I have enough for 10 meals !!! At least it taste good :lolsign:
Lunch was lentil stew since I have 5 containers of it in the freezer! supper was the other half of my stuffed potato from last nights supper and chicken strips. Later on after I shower and settle down to catch up on Downton Abbey I will be eating the doritos I picked up for 1.88 at shoppers one day sale mmmm jalapeno!
last night was Koolaid ribs, roasted broccoli & rice.
Soooo yummy!
If anyone is interested I got the koolaid rib recipe here
http://www.kraftcanada.com/en/recipe...ibs-88627.aspx
I use any kind of bbq sauce i have on hand but it HAS to be orange koolaid brand. Not tang, not orange crystals, but real koolaid (the kind you don't have to add sugar too)
How do the ribs taste out of curiousity?
Left over day for me with BBQ ribs, chicken and salad!
Last night I had tomato soup, and tuna salad on hotdog buns (my fave). Ate early since I didn't have lunch, and went to bed early.
Have no clue what my husband ate, oy! Son was away.
For tonight, no clue - son is away again - he and friends drove back and forth to Regina yesterday and are doing the same today, to attend car shows and racing.
Stouffer's Philly steak and cheese crustini.
We had baked chicken breast (which I nearly never buy, thighs at Costco is our standard chicken), along with mixed veggies and potato. Only had two potatoes left, DS and I had to share one. :)
In my sons words " OH you should sell these in a restaurant!" LOL
I had reservations on making them at first but now it is the only way I will make them.
I use pork back ribs, and closely watch the oven around 1 hour because if you burn them it will just ruin it.
I also usually add half cup extra bb sauce near the end so they are extra sticky!
But once you get that lovely caramelization on the ribs from the sugars in the koolaid, boy oh boy they are good!
Report back if you decide to make them, like to see what you think of them
it was so gorgeous out today we bbq'd some honey garlic sausages, hotdogs for the kids. made a potato salad with bacon and some deviled eggs.
Supper was supposed to be roast beef but we got back late from running errands, so it was hot dogs and fries for the family and leftovers for me. No picture, but I do have one of yesterday's ribeye supper:
