Tightbutt Winelover the Sober
Since I was "in the garden" all day and spent the rest of the day prepping my spicey pecans, goat cheese,etc... for a family dinner on Friday and a bbq on Sat I'm not really in the mood to make dinner. So maybe cereal ;)

Gyoza dumplings, filled with pork and leeks. Pan fried from frozen (store bought) and dipped in a soy sauce/vinegar/garlic/chilli/sesame sauce!
Fast and super tasty.
Dildo Ballbreaker the Moist!! ha ha too funny!!
Yesterday I ended up having fish cakes! They were so good. REAL fish cakes made by my Nan with lots of salted cod, etc. And then an aunt sent in a beef stew with dumplings and then another aunt sent in a loaf of warm molasses bread and pan fried cod fish!!! I think steaks are on the menu for this evening!
6" sweet onion chicken teriyaki sub with lettuce, tomatoes, onion, olives, pickles and lots of sweet onion sauce. yum!
I have been holding onto a $10 coupon for Lick's for awhile now. I tried going a few months or so ago but it was closed down! They must have re-opened the location near me since I went by the other day and noticed it was open again so I decided to use my coupon before they close the location again LOL!
I got the homeburger, onion rings, and a tea. Total came to 11.27 but with my $10 coupon and rounding I only spent 1.25. The burger was huge! They were a tad cheap on the onion rings though...but the burger was seriously filling.

my dried up chicken breast, but the broccoli and garlic mashed turned out pretty good.
We are living off take out since we have no AC on the main floor of our house and even with fan just throwing out the garbage from dinner makes me sick (I do not handle heat well at all). Hopefully it will be as cool as they say it is supposed to be tomorrow so I can do some cooking and get some food in the fridge and freezer we can just re heat during the week since the last few weekends I have not been able to get any cooking done.
bought chicken thighs on sale, so i will be doing a chicken adobo and roasted chicken thighs with roasted yams.
chicken fajitas. two chicken breasts, three peppers, green onions, all marinated in a cup of salsa overnight. steam in the microwave for twelve minutes or so (have a Tupperware steamer for this). way better than using the oven/stove on 35 degree days (without humidity).
I made stir fry pork with veggies, almonds and hoisin sauce-it turned out to be very tasty.
We ordered the Saskatchewan Domino's 30th anniversary sale pizza. $14.99 large pizza with unlimited toppings. I had a $3 off coupon, so it actually cost us $12.59. :)
shrimp and mixed veggies and now enjoying raspberry chocolate coffee and homemade chocolate chip cookies!
Last night was baked ham with a honey mustard glaze, gnocchi, and peas.
I had asked my husband to take a chicken out of the freezer for tonight (was planning to make a roast chicken dinner), and he said Oooo, chicken soup, right? Well, okay - so that's what's for supper tonight! :)
the chicken adobo was good, the secret is to not over-cook it
for dinner, i did grilled cheese sandwich for dinner.
Yesterday, the Food Fishery opened (for cod) in NFLD. So as the fish came in, it was fillet in one 'stage" and cooked in another. Fresh cod deep fried in dry batters, beer batters, some pan fried. It was beyond delicious! (and fries done in a separate oil) What an evening. (I didn't go fishing or clean any of the fish..lol) just helped eat it! and then off course the evening turned into a beach fire that lasted late into the night!!
another no oven dinner tonight. have a beef roast in the slow cooker ($5.88) on top of a bunch on baby carrots and some chopped up onion. Added a bit of water and a bottle of VH Asian 5-spice sauce. Will steam up some broccoli to go with it, and possibly some rice (didn't have any potatoes on hand so couldn't just throw those in the bottom of the slow cooker).
for lunch, i did my usual chicken chipolote soup i have this when i do an early morning shift on the weekends.
We are currently cooking steak, fried mushrooms, potato salad, and stuffed mushrooms. :) I really like mushrooms!
Organic risotto and gluten free focaccia :)
Chicken from soup yesterday will turn into stew today - I have drippings from roasted chicken a few days ago, so that will be made into gravy; will add onions, peas, carrots, celery, serve over smashed potatoes and hopefully we have some pickled beets left to go with.
There's some leftover soup as well - and husband will munch on what's left from me picking the meat off the carcass. Not my cup of tea, but he loves it...
i'm excited for tonights meal...i'm attempting 'egg boats' from a recipe I saw on pinterest. fry some sausages and dice them up, mix 8 eggs, some diced green peppers, green onions, cream, s&p and pour everything into a hollowed out Panini buns and cook in the oven. hope its not a pinterst fail!
Have yet to receive EI:( So the food we have will have to last 19 days!!!! God help me!! Hope we make it:) Tonight is sweet potato fries and pinto bean burgers, carrot sticks:)
yesterday afternoon a bunch of us (all family) went to the beach and had a "picnic". We kept it simple and just BBQ'd hotdogs & hamburgers and off course there must have been 10 different salads and other sides. It was beautiful and so relaxing! Too cold to swim thou in the ocean, the water was freezing! I need a down day today so I am going to throw something in the oven hopefully, haven't figured out what to have so far, looking here for ideas!
