Tonight we are having pasta with homemade sauce with homemade wine. Cheap night but so so good!
Last night was pasta bake with tons of cheese and garlic buns.
Tonight I am thinking something in the Mexican family.
I will be making a beef and veggie stir fry-I figure it is a good way to get extra veggies into our diet. I think a lot of dietitians say 1/2 your plate should be veggies, 1/4 meat or other protein and 1/4 carbs so am trying to follow that as often as possible. Fortunately my DH likes this healthy eating, DD not so much!

quiche & spinach salad for one.
:) :) :) :)
pizza pasta since I have to work. Just doing pasta with spaghetti sauce, slices of pepperoni and cheese. Simple but actually pretty good!
Decided on Nachos since we forgot to take chicken out and it is much easier to defrost ground beef. Nice cheesey nachos topped with Taco meat made from homemade seasoning with salsa and sour cream. Yummy.
Might have fajitas tomorrow depends how we feel.
homemade vegetarian cabbage rolls :) yum!

I bought hot dogs for camping..and since we did not go..the kids got into them tonight:) So gross:(. I had sweet potato fries (homemade) and strawberry and yogurt parfait:)
I raided potatoes from the garden and picked some fresh dill to go with it. We are having steak with fried mushrooms to go with it. Not sure on the veggies. Cucumber salad and maybe some boiled veggies.
I just did a basic cucumber salad. Slice cucumber into circles. You can peel it or not...it's a personal choice. Then add mayonnaise and a little black pepper. Stir it all up in a bowl. The longer it sits the more watery and juicy it becomes. If you leave it too long the cucumbers will become limp.
Does anyone know any tried and true way to prepare portobello mushrooms for grilling?
Marinade favorites?

Tonight I made this hoisin noodle recipe from pinterest except I used chicken instead of pork and bucatini noodles instead of rice ones since I had those in the pantry. It was soooooooooooo good even though it only marinated for about 2 hours.http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...ps9aae811d.jpg

Yesterday ended up being another big barbecue...I am gonna have to roll back to ONT if keep up all this power eating! LOL...Today I have a bunch of cousins arriving that I haven't seen in years (some) so its going to be a big potluck supper..mamma mia!
tonight is turkey tacos Tuesday! harbie, that looks heavenly. I think i'll try that for sure maybe this week. have you ever made 'yakasoba' (I may have spelled it wrong). my husband gets It at his work and he raves about it and wants me to make it but I don't even know how to start.
Last night was veggie stir fry over basmati rice.
Tonight is quiche made with phyllo for the crust. I will put in, smoked ham pieces, spinach, onions and mushrooms with some light cheese.
Tonight is homemade burgers on the BBQ with fresh buns. With perogies and fries since we have small bags with some in them floating around the freezer and I'm in clearing out the odds and end mode!
Back to baked chicken, smashed potatoes (potatoes boiled, lightly squished, sprayed with olive oil, salt/pepper and baked). Served with roasted broccoli, baked in the oven with Parmesan, sea salt, freshly cracked pepper and olive oil, as well as some onion (unfortunately DS recently decided he no longer likes broccoli), so I felt free to add a videlia onion!).
Keeping it simple tonight so it's grilled chicken boobs over a garlic butter rice and a side salad.
scrambled eggs....Mmmm 4 of them! ( agh!)
Dh got home from work and then we headed right out the door again to head to the hair salon. Dh and our 10 month old son were getting haircuts. LO did really well for his first haircut. Didn't really sit still, but he didn't cry at all. I have a couple small pieces of his hair.
We then headed across the street to the Wicklow Cafe...we had a $50 gc to it. We each had a can of coke, shared mexi fries as an appetizer. We each ordered a special. I had teriyaki chicken and beef with veggies, served on a bed of round noodles (don't know the name). Dh had spicy beef with veggies and rice. LO had some food off our plates, plus Rice Krispies and water. It was pretty good, except the beef in my meal had way too much gristle on it.
I am going to a stagette party later this evening (my cousin is getting married on Saturday) so there will be tons of different, delicious foods! Looking forward to it! I was asked to make my signature dish 'Sex in a Pan"..LOL. Its a dessert with lots of cream cheese, puddings, cool whip & chocolate.
Oh, I love Sex in a Pan - it's been ages since I made it!
Last night was leftover chicken stew and mashed potatoes, but I knew that wouldn't be enough so I made Hamburger Helper - don't remember the name, maybe cheesy potato - well, it was just awful... but we ate it anyway...
I have no idea...trying to eat everything in house...15 days left till big grocery shop:)
Last night was Swiss Chalet, I had a doctor's appointment which ran late and than we had to go to 3 different stores to get the meds I needed since they are over the counter and everyone seemed to be our of stock. So by than there was no cooking.
Tonight not sure yet everything I suggest gets an I don't know.
