Its a cold, rainy day, I'm glad! I think today I'm going to make a big pot of peas soup with doughboys. I love that stuff!
making chicken adobo thighs
and spaghetti with meatsauce.
Leftover homemade pizza; husband attacked the stuff left on the ham bone.
Last night it was Swiss Chalet, because we just got home around 5 - from Orlando! We had a fabulous time, surprised our DS (who is seven) with the trip. He knew we were going somewhere, but nothing as exciting as Disney, etc.!
I picked up a few essentials last night (milk, etc.), but not much. Today I need to restock the fridge, tonight's dinner depends on what's on sale! Superstore has pork chops on, that might be on tonight's menu. :)
Last night was dinner at friends( I forgot so the pot pies will be later in the week) and tonight is the inlaws so I'm not sure but I know it will be yummy :P
janes chicken fingers, mccain superfry wedges and sweet potato fries
steamed brocolli and cauliflower
homemade apple pie tarts.
Oh, I'd say it feels hotter than that. They don't seem to give 'feels like' temperatures in FL, but every day was about 85 (that's close to 30), without factoring in humidity. Friday our car thermometer said it was 100F, which is 35. We went out to Disney, etc. early in the morning when they opened, and were back at our condo by 2 or so to relax in the air conditioning before going to the pool! :) Friday was pretty steamy though, even at 9 a.m. All my photos show me being sweaty!
We have a nice picnic ham in the oven. Only have one picnic ham left in the freezer because we are eating down the stockpile in preparation for defrosting the freezer. Picked these hams up at 99c/lb at NF a few months ago.
French onion Soup! with lots of croutons and cheese! It was delicious!
Sauteed cod in spicy curry sauce with carrots, brussel sprouts, and a large cesar salad.
last night dh was feeling under the weather so it was chicken noodle soup and toast. tonight i'll be using the porkchops i'd thawed for last nights dinner. add some baked potatoes and brussel sprouts fresh from the farmers market for me, broccoli for dd1 and DH. dd2 is going to hate dinner tonight!
Last night I made shipwreck casserole, served with a salad made with every veggie known to mankind - just kidding, but I have a big variety to use up!
Last night was a roast chicken, with mashed potatoes, gravy, Parmesan green beans and candied acorn squash.
I had never cooked a whole chicken before, not sure why but was kind of scared of it so would only have one if someone else cooked. All and all it was pretty good and surprised how much quicker it is make a chicken vs a beef roast which is what I normally make for Sunday Dinner.
Yesterday evening I cooked a beef roast with all the trimmings, etc and the gravy turned out excellent. I have enough leftovers for today so hot roast beef sandwiches for dinner today, maybe open face with stove top and mashed potatoes on the side.
Saturday night we bbq'd steak (free from Shoppers redemption in summer) with baked potatoes, asparagus and corn. Was so yummy!
Last night we had roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy with cauliflower. Yum again!
Tonight for dinner, hubby will be bbqing steak with baked potatoes, some sort of vegies probably glazed carrots and a nice salad with tomatoes (still have about 10 almost red ones in the garden). Dessert will be homemade Banana Cake.
When your family turns their nose up at the suggestion of a stir fry; proceed to plan B,
I'm still making a mini stir fry, but all of it is for me!
My other half has a nickname & sometimes I call him Freddie,
Wait until he finds out that he is getting Alpha-Getti...
The silent treat as a side order to remind him that I am ticked,
I have lots of veggies already chopped...why must he contradict?
Meanwhile back at the ranch Loocie is going to ginger it up for added zing,
I will sizzle with my wok & I'll probably cook & sing!!

I was given rice crackers, but don't know what to do with them. What do you do with rice crackers? How do you cook with them? Any recipe ideas?
Thanks

So many options so little motivation..........
Last night I made paninis in our panini machine - smoked turkey, gouda cheese and roasted red pepper spread in a whole wheat tortilla. Also had a green leaf salad with cucs and tomatoe and sunflower seeds.
Tonight is spaghetti in a tomatoe sauce, with homemade cheddar and garlic biscuits and grilled zucchini
