This afternoon was Military Whist day and it was my turn to make sandwiches, crudities and dessert. So thats what we had after the game. Egg sandwiches with green onions, diced ham with relish and mayo and chicken with celery and mayo. Dessert was all the baking ive been doing the past few weeks! It was the last Military Whist game for this year. We start up again on Jan 8th.
DH and I both had lunch out (separately) so we weren't very hungry. Anticipating this, I took out some cooked homemade meatloaf for DS, which he had with cauliflower. However, we just decorated our tree, so I bought some M&M stuff for us to have now -mozza sticks and pizza rolls. Also have frozen mini tacos that I got at Costco recently (they're quite tasty). DS is getting to bed late two nights in a row, but he'll have time to recover on Friday when we're off.
Geez I always forget about this thread :P
I made vegan red lentil shepherds pie with mushroom gravy.
Umm can you say YUM!!

Aw, wolfie, sorry you're not feeling well...
Tonight, husband had leftover chicken and potatoes. I had a WW frozen dinner - pot roast, which was actually very good (real meat!!!), plus a salad with Gk dressing and garlic buns.
Been away for a couple day, must catch up
Monday was leftovers and I had the rest of the lasagna soup which after it sat was more like a pasta
As promise below is the recipe I used

As mentioned I did make a few changes, I precooked the ground beef, but that is just a texture things for me.
Tuesday was Nachos
Last night was Bello Burgers with Poutine.
Ash - your recipe sounds good!
Last night supper was fish fillet with homemade salsa (corn, shredded carrot, green onion, tomato)
All the menu ideas on here sound great although I'm leaning towards poutine for supper tonight (not 100% decided on that one)
Food.........possibly on a plate.
Veggie Shepherd's Pie tonight.
I'm looking forward to it even more, because a friend made it for us. There's nothing like having someone make dinner for you when your energy levels need topping up.
Just made the sauce for supper - uh, and I could just eat up a bowl of it alone - now, lol!
We're having potato and cheese pyrohy - and the sauce I made is sauteed onions and spaghetti squash, made a mushroom sauce to mix in it, added small cut up pieces of beef sausage I had cooked a few days ago - and I'll bake that together first to go over the pyrohy.
You are looking for a pidpenky recipe - pidpenky are honey mushrooms, though people use differrent wild mushrooms and call it the same name. (nachynka is a dish made from cornmeal)
I don't make it myself, I just make a mushroom sauce from button mushrooms, but here are some links -
Look about halfway down on this link -

Soak mushrooms overnight. Drain and wash well. Add water to cover mushrooms and boil for 15 minutes. Drain and rinse again and set aside. Steam fry or saute onion and garlic in oil. ^ ^ Does this recipe work with magic mushrooms as well?
Adapted from the Anarchist's Cookbook.
rock - maybe that's why Ukrainians are a happy and hearty folk, lol!
as dh is back to work.. its easy peasy for me
probably mushroom rice and lentils again.
Last night was leftover Beef Stew, I had some in the fridge so it just needed to be reheated. It was warm, comforting and so quick to make since it just needed to heat it up, it was wonderful.
My mother and I would go picking mushrooms in the fall in the forest next to their farm. Mom would then clean the mushooms in water, boil them an then freeze them. Also she would string some and dry them and then bag them. And she made thisincredible tihick mushroom gravy.
Last night was chicken brochettes with vegetables and basmati rice. Tonight was just plain old peanut butter on caraway seed bread (Kimmel bread). Love the stuff! Much much better than plain old rye bread.
Last night was leftover pyrohy, added some gravy to them when I heated them in the oven. Husband added some eggs over easy for his meal.
Last night was leftover pizza reheated with chips and dip. Odd meals but not take out which is what mom was going for since we had to go and do a bunch of running around after I got off work.
Last night was ribs from Costco. They were good, although DS thought they were 'chewy.' We like them with a bit of bite to them. I think I will do more tonight, but do DS's in the crock pot.
Well I've been stuck in a wind tunnel!! ha ha..very high winds! Lost my power & internet on Wednesday the power came back but the internet only yesterday. Not fun!! I'm lucky today on dinner, stopped by my Nan's and she gave me a big bowl of homemade baked beans & pork right out of the oven and a loaf of fresh homemade bread..will prob have some later! I'm tired today. The winds continue and now we are getting a big storm tonight/tomorrow. Hope I don't lose my internet again.
last night was breakfast for dinner...ham and cheese omelettes, hash browns and toast.
tonight is spaghetti and meatballs, Caesar salad and some garlic bread
This evening we are babysitting our grandkids while son and d-i-l go to their Christmas party from work. Son said he is leaving some money for us to order take-out. they live in a very small town so the choice is very very limited and im not a pizza lover. So it will probably be BBQ chicken, Greek potatoes and cole slaw from the local Metro or IGA.
Son is coming over for supper, so I'm making some of his faves: cornflake-coated garlicky fried porkchops, lazy cabbage rolls casserole, mashed potatoes, and salad.
nothing fancy, had to study today.. so I just fried up some smokies, KD, and steamed veggies.
