I made a cheesy pasta, veggie, ground beef casserole. It was pretty good and relatively healthy. I had it all cooked up and kept it warm in the oven when I headed to my 4:00pm meeting. Texted dh to let him know the food was ready when he brought LO home from daycare.
Last night I made my MIL's "osso bucco" using beef instead of veal shank. It turned out sooooooo yummy :P
I got a beautiful cast iron Dutch oven in the states for $49(tax in) that was reg $140(tax in)!!!! I <3 it so much I'm going to use it again tonight and make something with chicken thighs :)
I'm open to suggestions :)
Apparently Harbie is the only one eating today-or at least planning ahead and posting!! I think we will clean up some leftovers in the fridge.
I put a beef roast in the slow cooker this morning...not sure what I'm doing with it yet, too tired for a big fuss so might just make a sandwich on fresh cheese buns..lol..:pop2:
I made more cod, late last night. Served as DH late night meal, and our dinner today.
french toast
We had leftovers, part of my attempt to ensure that it is eaten and doesn't go to waste.
I am planning on making a chicken and veggie stirfry with noodles for supper tomorrow night.
Tonight is pork chops on the bbq (was going to put in slow cooker but ran out of time this morning) and it is a bbq kind of day anyway!.
we are having sweet & sour meatballs with rice pilaf.
Luckily, I have tons of leftovers from the roast, and I saved the au jus (lol) to make gravy, so will make some mashed potatoes, carrots, etc...
Tonight I'm making braised chicken thighs with kale and paprika & white wine :)
macaroni salad and cold cuts
Yesterday, take-out Chinese food from the mall. Lots leftover to have today and tomorrow, probably.
I'm not sure what to have today..yesterday I was bored so I made an awesome tomato/spaghetti sauce...so I might have pasta...or tacos (I have a few with the cheese FPC..LOL)..or chicken wraps..or sushi...I can't decide..lol.....see what I feel like having later...lots of choices!
Tonight we`re having liver and onions
Leftover chicken thighs :P
I am making chicken and veggie stir fry and DH is making an apple pie. Then I am going away so no cooking for 2.5 weeks-yeah!
Tonight is Pot Roast stew over mashed potatoes probably with a kale salad since Mom picked up two bags at Costco the other day.
Lazy cold night here so can't wait to get on the couch and cuddle. Kids are having Jane chicken strips and fries with cucumber on the side. Adults are having pasta (homemade sauce pulled from the freezer- thought we were out so was going to use classic jar) with garlic bread made with the most yummy buns that I have in the freezer :)
Finally got our hydro back about 45 min ago, been out since around 1:00 this aft. What a drag, I caught up on my reading by daylight, till it got tough on the eyes with the gloomy rainy sky our there. So I am back to roasting some more whole tomatoes and zucchini but this time I bundled up 2 whole heads of garlic in foil alongside the other veg. Lucky that I had made a lemon chicken stir fry between noon and when the power went out.
I decided to go with the chicken wraps, nice and easy!! They were good too...but the Olymel chicken strips are high in sodium thou, guess I will be drinking a gallon of "something" later...lol
Clean out the fridge supper - fried up leftover roasted potatoes, carrots and some kolbassa for husband, who had it with leftover chicken bits (I ate the meat yesterday, he likes all the skin and bones-stuff), and bread.
I had a late lunch of leftover chinese food, so I'm having a late supper of leftover chinese food, lol!
Tonight, homemade chicken noodle soup.
Then it always depends upon how much we eat if we have anything else - I usually separate the meat to use at another meal, and husband gnaws on the bones, eats the skin and junk. (sigh, I know, but he's skinny and he could use the calories these days!)
Not cooking today! yeah! going to friends house for dinner. I'm bringing dessert; whatever I can find scrumptious at Loblaws! :-)
If I get my own way tonight it will be a chicken cacciatore style dish,
Sometimes I crave a tomato-ey dinner & today that is my wish,
I'll gladly be the cook as long as there are no complainers,
Cause if they voice disapproval, then they'll be dinner abstainers,
Egg Noodles always make it nice & I am also a pasta loving gal,
One final key ingredient to have is a friend & a dish washing pal.
One of the standbys, pork chops in the crockpot. Bought pork sirloin at Costco - wanted a big roast type thing that could do a couple of days, but pork roast was not as cheap as the sirloin chops, so went with that.
Made some delicious homemade chill and crusty bread!
