Tonight I made hot dogs which I served on hamburger buns cause that's what I had left ;) with a buffalo bacon macaroni salad.:P
Courtesy of the school chef tonight!
Indian-inspired Veggie Trio
A rainbow of colours and flavours in this Indian-inspired dinner: a chickpea veggie curry and dahl, served on a bed of rice with side helpings of raita and lime pickle for cooling it down or revving up the heat.
Crock-Pot chicken smothered in cream & mushroom soup over rice.. yum!
mmmmm
sure smells great in here!

^such a cute smiley!
Made some sort of a concoction with ground pork, sauteed with onions, added leftover chicken gravy, can of mushroom soup and some water, some cooked mixed veggies mixed in - served over pasta; husband had with leftover smashed potatoes.
Last night was supposed to be Bello Burgers but we ended up going to Swiss Chalet for appetizers instead, neither of us wanted to cook. So tonight will be Bello Burgers.
I had last nights dinner all calculated, recorded on my eating plan and measured it out ( small dish of homemade chili ) but then I went and slow cooked a whack of steak in the cast iron pot again and it turned into a stew, so who wants chili when there is a fresh stew calling them?! Mmmm what is it with stew?
Last night was hash browns with an over easy egg and Chili.
heres a pic of the buffalo bacon Mac salad I made earlier.
I keep seeing that KFC bucket list commercial and it got me in the mood for KFC so that's what we had last night (with Reser's salads on sale this week at RCSS). The bucket consists of only legs and thighs but it was still delicious though it would have been better if it was a little less greasy.
Tonight? Idk but I've got all day to figure it out ;)
arrived back in NFLD yesterday evening and I already have a fridge full of food that people have dropped off (they think I can't cook...ha ) I have some leftover , homemade turkey soup, lasagna, a meatball dish, potato salads, loads of fresh bread & cookies..etc, etc,,,,yummy for the tummy!
Keljo-no reason to let them know you can cook, is there?? Lol.
Tonight was leftover pasta mixed with fried garlic sausage, with a salad.
Tonight I made basmatti rice and followed the cooking directions on the package. LO absolutely loved it. I also made a hamburger mushroom sauce. LO doesn't like hamburger, but the rice was such a hit that he ate some of that too. I personally think LO overate, but he seems to be just fine. :)
made the 2 guys happy with their work dinners for tonight. They each got their own whole red snapper which I baked in foil pouches loaded with fresh basil leaves and sprinkled with a homemade no salt lemon herb spice mixture. Once they cooled enough to remove all the bones I tossed some sauteed onions, mushrooms and red peppers over the fillets. Cooked carrots and broccoli as sides.
Ooh, that sounds lovely!
For us, there was ground beef on sale at Superstore and I'm off today. So it's Zonny's meatloaf (that I never have to push anyone in the household to eat, they love it), hassleback potatoes (I call them slice/dice potatoes, big potatoes with a whole lot of cuts in them, sprayed with olive oil, sprinkled with salt/pepper, cheese in the cuts and tonight, a bit of bacon!). Salad too, since we have lots of lettuce and I bought several peppers today.
We are having baked chicken breast( $2 per lb at No Frills), corn on the cob(.39 cents each at NF) sliced tomato( .12 at NF after checkout 51 25 cent rebate ), sliced avocado( Co-op 50 cents each) and Quinoa-can't remember the price but it is expensive.
Too hot to care, so just ate when we had to. Husband had a sandwich, I had a toad in the hole.

eating that crazy liver and onions as a combo breakfast/lunch around 11:00 a.m. on Friday threw a wrench into the rest of the days calculations. ( who knew 5 oz of my delicious sauteed liver would put me WAAAY over on my cholesterol allowances? ) So I spent a very long time searching foods to fit the amount of calories, carbs, fibre, protein and sugar I was left with.
Best I could find to fit was chili (again ) and not much of it either....those beans cost plenty when you are dieting, and some 0% fat Greek yogurt with 1 cup berries and a scant teaspoon of pure maple syrup stirred in.
stuffed pork chops & mashed potatoes
ice cream :)
While this wasn't dinner it was dessert. Choco lava cake with caramel drizzle and strawberry ice cream :P
Liver and onions. *shudder* My mother loved this, especially with lots of onions and bacon. Last time I tried it was probably 35 years ago, and I doubt it's improved much since. :)
I wonder what the market for liver will be in the future? You may be an exception, but I think that most folks under 50 today don't eat it (including me), and won't force it on their kids either!
Zonny, my husband loves liver - and so does my son! Both regular liver, but especially chicken livers.
My nephews' kids all eat liver, too - little kids. Guess it's just what one grows up with, to a degree.
My parents served liver, all the kids ate it (and still do), but I cannot. Just can't. I can cook it and love the smell, but the texture grosses me out.

Well, we found out that the smoke detector works!
Sadly, also found out that my husband can't hear it. Gah! He doesn't hear some sounds, but I'm sad this is one he can't.
It was the pork patties in the oven that got to smokin' - husband was supposed to be watching them, argh!
Anyway, had pork patties, roasted potatoes, and creamed corn for supper.
i made chicken adobo with loads of onion tonight
will have it tomorrow or monday
BBQ season already? Oh yeah! Tonight it was President's Choice Loads of Cheddar & Bacon beef burgers and they were delicious :hungry:
