Last night was loaded baked potato soup. Tonight will be BBQ something ;)
The guys have their choice for their work dinners tonight, either GF Lasagna or ( wheat ) large shell pasta with homemade meatballs. I stole a few meatballs from the pan and made a smaller bowl full of GF spiral pasta for moi too! Those meatballs simmered in sauce for 3 hrs this morning, Mmmmm.
I have a bunch of relatives coming this weekend to stay with my grandmother for the weekend so I made a huge, fat lasagna to help her out so will have some of that (more lasagna..yum, yum) and she's making homemade oven roasted pork & beans, so will try that as well...
Pasta with shrimp. Kids are having bbq'd homemade burgers and salad. It's Friday night and we like to relax, no rules. Please everyone :)
Baked fish fillets, WM KD (won't buy it again), celery and carrot sticks.
Grilled chicken drumsticks, smashed potatoes and salad.
toasted tomato sandwich
BBQ chicken, sauteed mushrooms, onions and peppers, perogies and extra raw veggies cut up.
Cake icing.
Only because I don't know how to
bake a cake to put it on.
And that's the truth!
It's not easy being me.
Another hockey game to watch, but had so few calories left for my dinner ( blaming the " other " meals I ate today) so had 25 grams of Tostito chips and 4 Tblsp Salsa, a small stir fry with water chestnuts, mushrooms, onion, bok choy and spinach as veg, a 1/2 lime squeezed over, mixed in 25 grams of some spicey peanut satay tuna and a few drops of GF no salt ginger sauce. Six wedges of a beefsteak tomato.
I'm making a chicken dip with crumbled bacon, green onions, dried cranberries and a secret sauce. It goes on crackers; it sounds weird but tastes yummy ..
pulled pork. already done. either mashed taters or 'baked' taters in the CP. and fried corn on the cob. but off. LOL
Burgers on PC naan rounds with a side of super seven salad :P
Yum. I'm hungry now.
Last night I made crock pot meat loaf, usually I use bbq sauce in it but we were out, so I used ranch dressing and cheese curds and it turned out amazing.
Tonight we're either having bbq burgers or steak, letting dh pick lol.
Crock pot meat loaf? How'd you do that?
Not sure exactly what will be for dinner tonight. I really want to BBQ again so maybe mini pizzas on the naan rounds?????? Oh ya...... Creme brûlée for dessert with fresh berries :P
It's a beautiful day here, I should be bbqing, but I'm too tired! We hiked for three hours earlier, a great time but we're wiped. So chicken breasts are in the oven.
Going to try Simply Food lasagne, will have salad with it and garlic toast.
I nearly always buy chicken thighs at Costco as our main source of protein. For tonight i had breasts that were on sale at Superstore. I asked DS which he liked better - he agrees with me, the thighs are juicier and tastier (and cost less!).
homemade thai green curry chicken thighs sprinkled with green onions on a bed of jasmine rice.
Mmmm, homemade GF lasagna.
BBQ hamburgers and tossed salad. I made a strawberry shortcake for desert but everyone was too full to eat it.
Homemade perogies I took from the freezer...boiled up and fried with onions and sausages. Made 2 apple/peach pies with frozen pie crust and put a crumb topping on it....just had a piece and it is good I must say :0p
We ended up having BBQ potatoes, chicken breast, pork tenderloin and super 7 salad and this was our dessert :P
It's nice and sunny here today. So, of course, I am cooking a turkey with all the trimmings. :P
OH, I've had the oven on for hours, too!
Roast chicken ( a biggie!) with dressing, gravy, rice with sauteed onions and celery, cooked carrots, and corn off the cob.
my grandmother made cold plates yesterday so I have a couple in the fridge for later--they include 3 different potato salads, macaroni salad, roast beef, baked chicken, ham, some other veggies, tomato & lettuce and homemade dinner rolls
last night I thought I'd try doing that soak the bread method for the first time ( instead of adding breadcrumbs ) to stretch the lean ground beef for the burgers, but I guess I added too much, they were kind of falling apart in the pan.......now the kids scooped up the meat and the bits and slapped them into a bun np! AND they said they were tasty too!
but DH??! Well, his pout told me I had ruined his burger, so while he stepped out to the store I dragged another pack of beef out of the freezer for his Highness. I added NO filler, just onion/salt/garlic/parsley to it, when he returned and ate, his frown had turned upside down. lol!!
I ate a fall apart one, phhfft! nothing at all wrong with the flavour and texture.
Last night was our first BBQ on our new BBQ, we have gone 3 summers without a BBQ and I forgot how much I love BBQ food. We had Steak with Roasted potatoes, asparagus, eggplant, zucchini, portabello mushrooms and peppers oh it was so good.
Also someone asked me for a recipe from this thread (so sorry cannot remember who) but it was for the quinoa eggplant parm casserole here is the recipe I used http://www.theironyou.com/2013/09/eg...casserole.html
