I wonder if they think that the carrot cake is veggies enough LOL.
It is work, so that is why both guys offered to help when they get home. I need things like the cheese all grated, the onions chopped, that sort of stuff. DH is actually the cake maker here believe it or not. Should all work out nice. A group effort.
Oh I wouldn't doubt it....like I watched on Supernatural last night where Sam ( or Dean ? ) said ketchup was a vegetable! lol
Homemade beef stew tonight. Pretty chilly so it's a good day for it.
Don't really have a plan for dinner tonight but I want something super warm and comforting, got our first real snow fall today. So thinking I will go home and put on a pot of potato soup, normally I would cook it for a few hours but will need to speed it up tonight as cooking time will be approximately 2 hours from the time I get home till Mom gets home. It will be a bit of a late dinner but I think it will hit the spot with this yucky nasty weather we are having.

Just got a 30 pack of fresh buns from the bakery. So, it's up to each of us what meatless items we want to pair with them - sardines, tuna, eggs, pb, etc. - leaving it open.
That's a very good tradition Natalka. For many of us, this season is about indulgence and overeating!
Zonny, during the year, Fridays are meatless for us. Prior to Christmas and Easter, we do it twice a week for the 40 day period before.
Added - will swing open a can of veggie soup to go with bunwiches.
Made baked potato wedges for lunch. Beef is stewing on the stove. Going to have beef stew for dinner later :)
DH and I both went out to lunch (separately) with work people, and had a lot, so we weren't hungry. Made a grilled cheese for DS. He also had a side of egg - I brought out the egg molds I haven't used in awhile, DS had one on the way to the sitter this morning and asked for another this evening. This one is car shaped, I also have a fish, a star, a heart, a pig, a bunny. You peel the hard boiled egg while it's still hot, and put it in this mold and chill for awhile (the egg, not you). Kids love them, and I thought it was kind of cool at breakfast too. :)

Took my mother out Christmas shopping again. We had a late lunch at Steak & Stein. I had a steak, baked potato, coleslaw and two deep fried pickles. They were interesting, but not something I'd want all the time. Came with a curry mayo.
pan fried trout with broccoli and rice.
Burgers, done in the oven. Yummy on soft bakery buns - but they are small buns, so 1/2 burger per.
Looks yummy ^^
homefries and fish tonight
Last night was the third Christmas Turkey dinner that we went to. But this one was a bit different than the others. they had turkey in some sort of light sauce, no potatoes, tortiere, warm Cranberry sauce, bread rolls stuffed with some sort of meat and then baked, lots of marinaded stuff (olives, pickles, beets, etc), 3 kinds of macaroni salads, some sort of beet and potato salad. All this was served buffet style. 2 more to go before Christmas. Next one is tomorrow night.
Tonght for dinner im making a small dinner ham, mashed potatoes, left over peas, and a spring salad with olive oïl and balsamic vinegar dressing.

My very amazing husband is currently pounding out pork loin to make schnitzel; I've gotten potatoes ready to boil, the veggies ready to go, salad is waiting to dress.
Son is coming for supper, so there was no complaint from my husband when I asked him if he would mind making schnitzel - so much appreciated!
Ordered pizza to the hotel room this evening..onions, mushroom, italian sausage, bacon & pepperoni and garlic fingers with dipping sauce :-)
