Tonight is Chicken Strips, Fries and the Onion Petals...All from M&M's. Quick and Easy.
Here ya go, Gottalovefreebies!
Shepherd's Pie
Prepare ahead of time your favourite mashed potato recipe...make it fluffy, use shredded cheese if you wish, or cream cheese, whatever you please. Set aside and keep warm.
Saute 1lb of lean ground beef (or chicken if you prefer), breaking it up and browning slightly. Remove the meat to a dish. Saute 1 large white onion in the drippings, adding a little more olive oil if needed, or some water to frizzle them until soft. Some people also saute diced celery at this point, too. Add the meat back in and stir together.
In a baking dish, plop the meat mixture and spread evenly.
Here's where it might vary: traditionalists use canned or frozen peas and carrots, others top that up with a can of condensed tomato/rice soup, or any veggies you prefer, and spread evenly over the meat mixture.
Spread the whole thing over with your mashed potatoes, dollop some butter over it all...shred some more cheese if you prefer, and if you like a dusting of bread crumbs, do that, too!
See? Easy-peasey! It's whatever you like...but that's the main gist of a shepherd's pie. I imagine originally it might have been made with lamb, but now it's generally ground beef.
So, Ladies...have I left anything out? ;-D
nothing for dinner, don't feel like eating. Good for my diet, i guess.
Kiymali Kus Yuvasi its ground lamb with pasta vegis and mozza you shpe them into birds nest and thats it
We really like them, I would never go back to just onion rings. These are so much better. They crisp up in the oven really nicely and they have a bit of a kick to them. I think it is jalapeno. My 2 year old son LOVES them. For some reason he calls them Banana's :lolsign:
The onion petals sound really tasty!
Onion petals?! Oohhhh this might help my cravings for those blooming onion thingies which we do not have in this town!
We've got another evening of butternut squash soup and Italian bread...I could eat this stuff every day (two days isn't enough, lol!). We also froze a lot for out-of-town company the evening they arrive, to have before dinner....
uh oh i forgot to take something out
Was going to make meatloaf.. er... forgot to throw the frozen meat into the fridge last night.. so erm.. Guess it's fed for yourself night... again... wow.. think that's been 6 nights in a row hahaha.
Oh well!
tonight we are having a X-mas party for all the ''old people'' that used to work together. We will be having fondue. It should be fun. People I haven't seen in ages!! Some of us, like me, just moved out and a bunch retired. Lots of fun to come!! we can't come home too late because we are having friends over for brunch in the morning. I love party season!!! LOL
Tonight we are having cheese and spinach cannelloni, Ceasar salad and garlic bread.

well today was EID (a special festive day for muslims) so i was preparing for tonights dinner for DAYS. We had masala chicken with rice, butter chicken, spiced meat balls in gravy, beef and vegetable samosas, for the kids (since all of the above is WAY to spicy for them) i make pasta with beef, and beef lasagna with mildly spiced vegetable samosa.
For desert, we had home made strawberry cheese cake, along with some rice pudding and home made Mango and pistachio flavoured ice cream. MMmmmM
I"M STILL NOT FULL ..lol

Tonight's going to be pretty simple and reliable... roasted chicken thighs that have been marinated. Got a freezer full of them. And some P.E.I. potatoes and steamed broccoli. Something you can sorta do with one hand tied behind your back.
But I wanna show ya what we had for lunch yesterday...

This little place called "Brioche" has got (what I think is) the finest soup in Vancouver. We had a shrimp bisque and a spicy chick pea and tomato soup with a green bean and asparagus salad side, bread, and a couple of chocolate macaroon cookies. Total bill for lunch for two: $13.91 (and I got some Shoppers Optimum points because I put it on my Shoppers Optimum Mastercard) :-)
wow thats a great price for two. Its funny how a lot of restaurants now carry special affordable menus that most people would never think you'll get in certain places. Oh nice to see you ordered water as well, lol
Don't you love those nights? We had western sammiches last Wednesday....I still love those so much! lol!
Tonight is frozen pizza night because we were both busy around the house, I had some hand-sewing to finish up, so we're pooped.
Oh. And later, some white wine. For medicinal reasons. :P
