Yes, you do need to try this! Does your frying pan catch fire when cooking bacon? Well neither will your bacon in the oven! :) If you have a functional nose, you'll know when it's cooked and if it starts to overcook.

Well having written that I would like to try dinner at another SC'ers- my DH( must have read my mind??) cut up a pork tenderloin into medallions and wrapped each one around the edges with bacon and BBQ'd-super yummy and frugal as the pork was $2.00 per lb this week at No Frills and the bacon was free on my bonus redemption at SDM yesterday. So suddenly things were a bit more gourmet around my house! A friend had made them for us and we had never tried making them before. We had some salad with it.
Re: Bacon - 400° for about 15 min
Tonight it was chicken & veggie casserole.
I have a really nice (small) boneless pork loin center roast, going to slice it , should get 4-5 thick steaks for the bbq..and I'm going to make my mango salsa and will have either potato or a salad with it...(the roast was on sale for $7.52 and because the date was out that day it was reduced by 50% so I got it for $3.76 and put it in the freezer for a day like today :) )
I'm having crabmeat and rotini with red pepper and mango.
. . .making stew in the crockpot, perhaps some bisquick biscuits (depending how hot it is in the house), may just have dinner buns on the side. Zucchini pineapple loaf for dessert as I had a lone bag of shredded zucchini in the back of the freezer. I've been having 'thanksgiving food' cravings (in July), keeping my eyes peeled for a good price on turkey. :lolsign:
Just me tonight, I was going to BBQ so I did not heat up the house but they are calling for rain to start mid to late afternoon so now I think plan B will be to use up some left over pasta in the fridge and make some sort of fresh tomato topping with some parm.
It is too darn hot! Even though we have central air conditioning throughout the house, we just dont feel like cooking and ordering out or dining out isnt what we want. So, yesterday i made frozen Dr Oetker Pizza. Tonight im ``making`` Lean Cuisine for me and 3 Michelina`s Macarroni for hubby.
I was going to make that chicken noodle and veggie dish but supper plans had to change. I think baby boy (twin A) dropped and my pelvis was causing excruciating pain, so we ended up going out for Chinese food. I'm not in as much pain today, but still not doing the best (35wks with twins tomorrow). We had our regular order: war wanton soup, and dinner for two which consists of 2 egg rolls, fried rice, beef and veggie stir-fry, and mild ginger chicken. There is lots of leftovers in the fridge that dh is looking forward to eating for supper tonight. I think the chicken noodle dish will be tomorrow's supper.
Bacon wrapped chicken, Corn on the cob and grilled zucchini, peppers and mushrooms. Chocolate ice cream for dessert.
We're making a pizza here. The dough is rising & the sauce is simmering. Then it will be time to chop, prep & eat. I love my Kitchen Aid Mixer!!
Leftovers
Cheesy veggie quinoa and bbq pork steaks
chciken meatloaf and PC mac and cheese.
I kept it real simple today. I grilled some cheddar grill 'ems for DH and I had regular hotdogs. I made a huge salad after visiting my MILs garden ;). It was loaded and topped with some feta cheese and a balsamic vineagrette. DH is having a Chapmans Neapolitan ice cream sandwhich for dessert.
This was my veg hall today. I'm going to post better pics of the such since they are hidden and the size of a small Buick!!!

^ harbie, how fab that you get to share in the amazing veggie bounty!
Last night for supper, I had fried ham and eggs with toast.
Husband had leftover chicken bits, bread, ham.
going to our daughters for dinner tonight. Yay! no cooking
Pork chops, rice and stir fry veggies (broccoli, carrots, onion, green beans).
No clue really, Mom is home today and hoping this take the reins on this. I have been pushing for home cooked meals as we started to turn to take out again and have been doing really well but well today is not my day, I am exhausted and my based on how my desk looks it isn't going to get any better as the day goes on. So here is to hoping Mom plans and makes something tonight so I can just crash when I get home.
...busy here today getting last minute things done for Saturday's race, so took out a frozen container of spaghetti earlier..will make some garlic bread, minus the garlic lol (need to talk to many, many people)
Veal Cannelloni, salad and garlic bread with a glass of red wine.
I cooked up a chicken in the countertop convection cooker last night; put it beside the window and had a fan on to keep the heat from seeping into the house ;) As well I made yellow beans from the garden, rice and gravy. Growing up we always had mashed potatoes with gravy, but rice and gravy is very delicious as well.
The Real Canadian Wholesale store has those Maple Leaf Prime meals again for $3.99 so we'll be having the turkey one tonight for supper. Think I'll make rice again - bought so much for the $4 chicken coupons that I need to make it several times a week, and I always make enough so the dogs get some as well :)
No idea.
I never fry bacon anymore since I discovered cooking it in the oven. That's how I cook my steaks as well. And now I cook my corn on the cob in the nuker. 1 cob on high for 3 minutes. Chop the stem end off and and the cob slips out of the husk. Perfectly cooked and no silk on it. Yum
Cage aux Sports Ribs and 2 BBQ Hot Dogs with a diet pepsi and some frozen raspberries yogurt for dessert
KD and a grilled cheese sandwich.
I remember someone mentioning Lou's ribs in another thread. Someone mentioned they were only sold in Ontario. I don't think that's correct as I've noticed them at my local RASS.
I'm pretty sure I've seen those here too, but never bought them.
Tonight I had chicken thighs, but they were still mostly frozen and I really didn't want to turn the oven on long enough to cook them (it's hot here). So I put them in the pressure cooker (Instant Pot) for four minutes with salt and pepper on them, then added breadcrumbs and baked in the
countertop oven for about 15 minutes. Easy peasy!
fried trout and rice.
mild Italian sausages, mashed spuds and my sale priced .88 cents/bunch steamed broccoli.
That was Lynn and me - their website said they were only sold in ON, but coming to other provinces.
Tonight for supper, pizza and potato salad.
Had bought the Delissio deluxe party pack last time it was on for $6, opened it and was disappointed to find it wasn't the rising crust ones we usually buy, and toppings were skimpy, so I added ham to them. Plus they are square, so don't fit a regular baking sheet, so I had to put one on my jumbo Wilton sheet, so can cook only one at a time.
In the oven now.
