Tonight's supper plans are perogies with fried onion and bacon, boiled veggies, sour cream, and milk.
Last night we had rib steak on the BBQ with carrots, potatoes and turnips on the BBQ also. Plus a nice green salad with tomatoes, radish, green onions, cucumbers. Yum Yum! Dessert was the Zucchini Banana Carrot cake i made.
Dont know yet but i think it will be sausages with greek potatoes and spinach. Plus a tomato and onion salad.
ham and bean soup (and boy this attracts the neighbour, can't make this stuff without giving up some to him...he smells it like a fox!) and cheddar jalepeno cornbread...don't have to cook for a few days!
Sounds great!....by the way....we'll drop in next Sunday to join you for dinner. Yes, we'd like you to do this again, please. ;) (We are still snow-covered here in Gatineau; can't get to the backyard yet! But I'm going to copy your dinner menu anyway, sans BBQ. :hungry:)

Baked chicken and broccoli salad.
Chicken ala king on french bread slices and a tossed salad.
I was feeling really tempted to have something " carby " after making DH his pancakes, so before that could happen I up made another large pot of my WW survival soup. ( all veg, mostly green ones and cartons of No Salt veggie broth ) It is delicious the way it is but I do prefer it blended, as it turns out so thick and creamy, and yet there is no cream at all in it.
Burgers and greek salad.
We ordered pizza tonight.
pulled pork sandwiches and salad with bacon vinegrette

Pork roast, mashed potatoes, carrots and pickled beets.
homemade hamburgers (ground beef, green onion tops, bread crumbs, 1 egg, salt and Pepper) with cheese, tomato, lettuce, bacon, mustard and relish. Delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Easy Peasy supper tonight :)
Toasted Tomato and Bacon Sandwiches on Rye with Cream of Tomato Soup and a small tossed salad with Coleslaw dressing. My new/old favourite. Soooo many ideas with Bacon and with the family spotting all the boxes stuffed in the freezer they keep asking for it. LOL. I usually only have Bacon on Sundays so this is a treat for them.
Fried wontons - ground pork, minced onion, mushrooms, water chestnuts; served with noodles.
It makes its own sauce - bonus!
Adapted from Company's Coming Casseroles recipe book
Chinese Hekka
--------------
1 pound ground beef (I've also used ground pork, but beef is better)
1 cup chopped onion
Brown both in a bit of oil, drain off fat.
2 cups shredded cabbage
2 cups shredded carrots
2 cups sliced celery
1/4 cup soy sauce
Few shakes of garlic powder, or several cloves of garlic minced
1/2 cup water (if I add a can of mushrooms, I don't drain them, just throw the can contents in, and omit adding extra water)
Sliced water chestnuts are good to add, too.
I like to add slivered almonds or peanuts (they soften) to the casserole, too.
Combine veggies mix and meat mix in 2L casserole or roaster. Cover. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
Check 3/4 of the way through cooking, mix and see if you need to add extra liquid.
If you want a thicker sauce, can add a bit of a cornstarch and water mixture near the end of cooking.
Serve over rice.
-----
In place of shredding cabbage and carrots, I have used the bagged tricolour coleslaw mix, and it's fine.
Home made Macaroni and cheese with a small ham and garden salad.
Bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches tonight.
Thanks Nat-I think I will try your Hekka casserole tonight.
..I love trying new (easy) recipes...I ended up making these oven baked fries to go with my fish...they were excellent..they were indeed crispy and yummy and I only used a minimal amount of EVOO...
