I was going to make dinner but stupid bf brought me McDonlad's, it was good and I thanked him but would have preferred to cook something myself, even if they were hamburgers it would have been healthier

trying to find a recipe that uses cream cheese - I have a couple left over from the holidays that expire at the end of the month....anyone have a recipie?
Just so you know GottaLoveFreebies, you can freeze cream cheese!
However, if you feel like making something - a cheesecake, either a baked one or a quickie one. Or a layered dip, maybe?
made dad uses cream cheese in his Beef Stroganoff recipe for the Crockpot it makes it nice and creamy.
You could even cream your cream cheese I mean like put it in the mixer and add some herbs to make it spreadable for bread or bagels. Thats if you eat that kind of stuff.
you could even make a really good thick Alfredo sauce out of cream cheese for on top of some pasta...
Natalka - I have too much holiday baking for another cake but I do LOVE them! I made dips and am all dipped out too. Am hoping to find a casserole or something to make. I have 4 bricks.....went a little overboard onthe sale with my coupons!!! I read that freezing it does not do so well...have you tried freezing it? Thank you for the ideas!
greentires4me- stroganoff sounds good.....perhaps I will look that up.....thanks!
Alfredo sauce too - have LOTS of catelli!!!
what about some sort of baked macoroni and cheese using the cream cheese it would make it really rich but would taste great either way...
I freeze cream cheese all the time, with no problem at all. Have used it after for both sweet and savoury recipes, with no difficulties.

Thank you again Natalka! Saved me some time searching! Lunch is in the oven! We like the traditional tuna casserole so thought I would try this version.....
http://www.ehow.com/how_5384180_make...le-recipe.html - tuna casserole in in the oven with my alterations - doubled the recipe using egg noodles not spaghetti and added in some frozen peas to make a one dish meal! Cost me less than $5 to make it!
Will try the potatos and chicken too another day!
I have made a pasta sauce with it. I have done it with heating pesto or sundried tomatoes(in oil) and when it's hot I add the cream cheese in small cubes so it melts faster. After you cook your pasta you save a bit of the starchy cooking water and add a bit of that to loosen it up, then toss your pasta in in to coat and chow down!!!.
You could also use them to make chicken or beef enchiladas :)
Last night for us was those Healthy Choice Steamers since I have so many from the current sale ;) Plus it was my first day back at the gym since getting hurt and I wasn't about to stuff myself. I have a hard enough time lifting my leg and walking as it is ;)
