TG-I like the sound of dinner at your house too! For those who are interested I saw somebody making lentil burgers on a cooking show yesterday-they were fast, easy and yummy.
1 can lentils
zest and juice of 1/2 lemon
ground cumin to taste
a little fried chopped onion and garlic
salt and pepper
1 egg
bread crumbs
This is how I made them but I am sure you can adjust them to your taste. Squish into patties and fry in a little veg oil.
I have to admit my wife does somehow work some magic with our crock pot
Crock pot BBQ pork chops
Sides of frozen mixed vegetables with cheese and buttered noodles
Flamingo chicken burgers on bakery buns, with homemade herby wedges. I had my burgers with onion and lettuce, husband will have cheese and onion.
Bought the burgers for 1/2 price last week, will not buy again. First of all, could not believe the amount of grease released from them while cooking. Then, they had no taste - sprinkled on salt and garlic powder which helped a bit. Worst of all, texture of chicken was not chicken-like at all, was medium dense and spongey. Ate them only because they were made.
Only good thing was the coating, which was really good - reminded me of a coating made from cornflakes. This was the only thing which let them be edible.
..pizza, ham, pineapple & mushrooms
Yes, good to know. I prefer the Janes variety if I eat the processed stuff.
We had beef stew for supper.
Canned moose meat
I rarely buy the processed stuff anymore, but couldn't resist the price to try them. The only other Flamingo's item we bought were the wings, but haven't tried those yet.
Husband is just eating them, late supper - he came to the same conclusion as me.
Homemade Chicken and rice soup with lots of chicken and veggies, crusty buns and Blueberry pie for dessert.
chicken parmesan and red tomato sauce over pasta
Three pepper steak, Fried potatoes and carrots.
Cereal.
Pour on milk.
Eat.
Just put ribs in the oven to cook. Not sure of the sides. Beans if we're lazy and potatoes if we're not.
Baked cod fillets with lemon pepper and garlic; rice-a-roni with peas and carrots mixed in.
Take out for a change
Not very often we do the take out thing but decided on Chinese (you don't have to tip and only a couple of minutes from here)
No kids tonight so I know what is for breakfast tomorrow (even better than leftover pizza)
Tonight was clean out the fridge night. For some reason the other day Mom took out 2 packages of beef strips when we only needed one so used those the second package, marinated them in soya sauce and various spices. Also used up an open package of mushrooms, peppers that were going soft and the rest of the beef broth to make a sauce. This will be served over rice
Slow cooked ham, mashed potatoes and mix veg.
Linguine with Shrimp Scampi (home made) and French bread I picked up from RCSS
Casserole with ground pork, onions, peas and carrots, in a mushroom garlic sauce; served over pasta with garlic toasted buns.
Mac and cheese, cottage roll with honey concoction and a small salad. Cherry cheesecake for dessert.
Tonight will be Beef Stew, will give us leftovers we can each take for dinner tomorrow night plus uses up some Garden Cocktail we had in the fridge. As well it uses the veggies we have in the house as our veggie drawer is looking quite empty right now but won't get to shopping till Wednesday.
It will have a base of Garden Cocktail with Beef Chunks, Carrots, and Potatoes.
chili with beans, i'll have it over spaghetti like at steak & shake
Tonight we are attending a Christmas potluck. I'm bringing haystack cookies, a.k.a. no bake chocolate drop cookies.
Rotisserie chicken (home made)
Crispy fried potatoes
Blackened mushrooms
A package of the swiss chalet dipping sauce ( we used to make the online version of it but this is much easier)
And may shoot out a bit later and grab some fresh buns from the bakery up the street
Tuna stroganoff.
Pork meatballs in a tomatoey-garlicky sauce, served over rice baked with peas and carrots, stirfried onions, celery, mushrooms, and cauliflower mixed in with rice.
