this is going to sound silly, but i wish knew how to cook ribs. my DH *loves* them..i cant stand them so i've never attempted it.
tonight it was just the kids and I as DH is on afternoon shift so we had alphaghetti/italian wedding soup and a toasted bagel. took the kids to sobeys to decorate mothers day cakes tonight so they had a butt-load of candy for dessert
When life hands you lemons, make a lemon pie... lemonade will be all like WTH?!?

I had a large salad with cut romaine, tomato chunks, avocado chunks, and some red onion with my homemade garlic salad dressing. Then I had a cup of yogurt and three mandarin oranges.

It was my oldest son's birthday yesterday (16!). I tried to convince him to go out for supper, but he wanted his usual seafood feast:
grilled sockeye, scallops, and zucchini, salt and pepper shrimp, beef and rice noodles, snap pea stir fry. Chocolate cake for dessert.

It's experimental food night in my household. I bought a big package of ground pork at Costco today to try a new recipe, and it seems to be the cheapest place to get it. So I've got a BIG package!
My recipe was for lower fat sausage patties from a Biggest Loser cookbook I picked up on sale recently. I'm sure mine aren't quite as low fat as the recipe, but they were pretty good, and healthier than a regular sausage. I'm going to make more of those.
Meanwhile, I have five pounds of it. So I made burgers tonight on the bbq, 2/3 beef, 1/3 pork. Tastes fine! I actually didn't find a whole lot of difference in flavour, and the ground pork is only $2 a pound, cheaper than the beef, so I consider that a win. The rest of the burgers are headed for the freezer (already cooked).
Next project, I have a recipe from my cookbook for 'Asian meatballs,' going to give those a go!
