made the 2 guys happy with their work dinners for tonight. They each got their own whole red snapper which I baked in foil pouches loaded with fresh basil leaves and sprinkled with a homemade no salt lemon herb spice mixture. Once they cooled enough to remove all the bones I tossed some sauteed onions, mushrooms and red peppers over the fillets. Cooked carrots and broccoli as sides.

    Ooh, that sounds lovely!

For us, there was ground beef on sale at Superstore and I'm off today. So it's Zonny's meatloaf (that I never have to push anyone in the household to eat, they love it), hassleback potatoes (I call them slice/dice potatoes, big potatoes with a whole lot of cuts in them, sprayed with olive oil, sprinkled with salt/pepper, cheese in the cuts and tonight, a bit of bacon!). Salad too, since we have lots of lettuce and I bought several peppers today.

Too hot to care, so just ate when we had to. Husband had a sandwich, I had a toad in the hole.

eating that crazy liver and onions as a combo breakfast/lunch around 11:00 a.m. on Friday threw a wrench into the rest of the days calculations. ( who knew 5 oz of my delicious sauteed liver would put me WAAAY over on my cholesterol allowances? ) So I spent a very long time searching foods to fit the amount of calories, carbs, fibre, protein and sugar I was left with.
Best I could find to fit was chili (again ) and not much of it either....those beans cost plenty when you are dieting, and some 0% fat Greek yogurt with 1 cup berries and a scant teaspoon of pure maple syrup stirred in.

Liver and onions. *shudder* My mother loved this, especially with lots of onions and bacon. Last time I tried it was probably 35 years ago, and I doubt it's improved much since.

I wonder what the market for liver will be in the future? You may be an exception, but I think that most folks under 50 today don't eat it (including me), and won't force it on their kids either!

Zonny, my husband loves liver - and so does my son! Both regular liver, but especially chicken livers.

My nephews' kids all eat liver, too - little kids. Guess it's just what one grows up with, to a degree.
My parents served liver, all the kids ate it (and still do), but I cannot. Just can't. I can cook it and love the smell, but the texture grosses me out.

    ------
Well, we found out that the smoke detector works!
Sadly, also found out that my husband can't hear it. Gah! He doesn't hear some sounds, but I'm sad this is one he can't.
It was the pork patties in the oven that got to smokin' - husband was supposed to be watching them, argh!

Anyway, had pork patties, roasted potatoes, and creamed corn for supper.
