@SassyAshley I have met quite a few people ( and I include our family ) that struggles every day NOT to reach for the Take Out stuff. I personally am fairly good at resisting BUT if someone in the house brings something home? all bets are off.
Atm, I am enjoying some homemade soups ( just for me! ) Sticking as close to Phase 1 of the Poon plan, these concoctions would be of no interest to the other family members here. Their soups are full of pasta, beans and many other no-no foods for me.

@walkonby, I find when it is just me I can skip the take out but this is when I find myself eating things like a bagel or something quick for dinner. This is why I want to fill my freezer with options of quick grab and go meals.

Last night we ended up having Chicken in Pesto with Pasta, apparently my Chicken in Pesto with Rice dish a few weeks back was much better as per Mom.
I personally think it was in the cooking when I made mine I coated the chicken in pesto, lemon zest and a little lemon juice and baked it. Last night she cooked the chicken trough then added the pesto, no lemon zest or juice and then added the pasta. Although Pesto does not need to be cooked I think that was the difference was I used it as a marinade before I baked the chicken.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

DS has homemade mac and cheese waiting for him to eat after school and before he goes to work. Not sure what the plan is for dinner yet but I should clean out the fridge and figure it out. Will make rice for sure so I can make DS chicken fried rice for his school lunch tomorrow. (we have celery and cooked chicken and peas etc in the freezer so everything needed to make it)
I will take a roast out of the freeze and have it ready for DS to pop in the oven after school tomorrow I think. Will serve with green beans, gravy and French fries (because I'm out of potatoes!)

Today is Mom's Birthday, pretty sure it is going to Mary Brown's for dinner as she has mentioned it a few times. I will give her the money to pick it up since it is on her way home from work but I work in the opposite direction.

My wfie is downtown visiting my mother in the hspital so she said she would just grab take out on her way back later. Unfortunately i cannot go with her because my doctor has told me to stay away from going to hospitals this time of year because with my current health condition if i get something from someone it could be fatal to me. Obviously I can go in a emergency
