I was to tired to make a big deal for dinner tonight since I spent the entire day deep cleaning and organizing. So tonight was daiya Mexican cheese and homemade black bean quesadilla with a side of cucumbers.

@crafter !!! Oh those pics of the won tons looked delicious! Mouth watering little bundles and the best part is you guys had fun together making them. Carry on!

We also made a joint " whatever we have in the house " soup last night well before game time at 7.
DH was hilarious when it came to the base, or the stock of this soup. I was still downstairs when he said he'd start the soup.
I came up to see 2 empty cans...1 was a can of chicken gravy, the other a can of the Accents diced tomatoes and an empty jar of Classico sausage pasta sauce??
I zipped my lip, just looked over the pot in bewilderment, as he added water to that.

I went straight to the chopping prep, grabbing whatever I could
I managed to do thinly sliced onions, a handful of brussel sprouts, some cabbage, a few leftover wrinkled mushrooms, 4 leftover cooked breakfast sausages, the last few ribs of celery, then we used frozen diced carrots, peas and corn as extra veggies. We had no spuds at all left.
To mu utter surprise it actually turned into a delicious soup! We enjoyed that with a small batch of Cheddar tea biscuits.

@harbie your quesdillas look incredible! I will try some with black beans and cheese or daiya. Yum!
@walkonby omg I couldn't stop laughing re DH's soup base! That's phenomenal news that the soup turned out so well. Quite the team effort! Yum cheddar tea biscuits. Do you have a recipe by chance? We've been craving tea biscuits lately.

Veggie Samosas are on deck for dinner tonight. fingers crossed they turn out ok.

I'm not sure if its just an east coast thing (?) but I make the dough in the bread maker and the sauce (white sauce) and meat is bought; and the toppings are onion, tomato (seeds removed, etc) and mozzarella cheese, it is soooo good!

That sounds so tasty! Thanks for including pics of Mr Donair meat, I'll search for it here. I think I found a frozen version Mr Donair years ago but I've never seen fresh. cool

^ I think the sauce may be a different brand name but all the packaging is in the garbage now so I'm not 100% on the brand names but included the pic for reference. If you can find the sauce & meat its a delicious pizza!

Not sure what's on the menu for today! So far all I have is a no bake peanut butter pie that I made too late yesterday and it wasn't set in time! Too much football

Originally I was thinking Roasted Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy & Roasted Butternut Squash but I was busy doing other things and forgot to take the chicken out.

So plan B is Steak with Sauteed Mushrooms & Onions, Roasted Potatoes and Roasted Garlic Parm Butternut Squash

@KelJo I went on a search for Donair products locally to no avail but I happened upon this recipe that I thought you might be interested in seeing it's an east coast speciality.

hey @crafter and @harbie I am so very glad that I never over-reacted at seeing the " soup base " ingredients DH already had in the pot, because the words on the tip of my tongue were " wtf!? That is what you think is the beginnings of a homemade soup are?
I had another bowl already today....it's even better! Live and learn I guess.
