all I had eaten was breakfast at 9:30 a.m. so by 5:30 I was sure ready to enjoy a good meal. Pan seared 4 oz. of blade steak in my new cast iron pan with a cast iron grill press, made sauteed mushrooms and onions and boiled up 2 small new potatoes. Yummy!!

Last night Dh and I went out on a date. Poutine appetizer. Steak sandwiches as the main. Then popcorn at the movie.

We made a snacky supper for the kids before the babysitter took over for the evening.

Very early dinner here for us, as the guys are hoping to get back and try to start the remainder of the backyard patio area. Tough to work on a full belly. We had BBQ'd sausages, no bun for me with honey mustard to dip. Boiled spuds and corn on the cob. Simple to make up. easy clean up.

I spent the day baking, so I kept supper simple. Garlic sausage, perogies, steamed California veggies.

One pan of No-Bake Chocolate Lunch Box Treat, 1/3 batch of confetti squares (finished the bag of butterscotch Chipits). 98 oatmeal kiss blossom cookies. Banana oatmeal chocolate chip squares 9x13” pan, and 2 dozen banana chocolate chip muffins. Most of what we’ve baked today is headed for the freezer. Ds has been helping a fair bit. Anything nut free is intended for school lunches.

That was a delicious supper. Mini chicken pitas with Asian salad. I picked up the salad kit for $0.99 on clearance at Sobeys.

It's back to the soup drawing board for me. Too many days of eating things I should not have, foolish move.
Today I decided to simmer up a massive batch of soup stock.
This way there is no salt, sugar and God knows whatsoever else is in those cartons I usually buy.
I did add salt to my broth, but just enough to taste, along with an extra shake of black pepper.
Mostly veg went in to start, but then I tossed in a tray of SKBL chx thighs. Having soup for my dinner. Mmmm

Yesterday we had a simple supper. Roast ham, toast or toasted bagel, canned pineapple, fresh veg.

Tonight I made a double batch of waffles with some mini chocolate chips in them. We had it with roast ham, fresh blueberries, fresh grapes, and milk. The extra waffles are bring frozen for my kids to pack for school lunches.

We are camping so dinners are always so good mostly because we love to grill and cook outside
tonight is bbq back ribs, fresh corn, Caesar salad and peach crisp with vanilla ice cream.
During the summer I have a problem with weight loss and I’m not sure if it’s the heat or all the extra activity during 3 months of camping. Right now all my summer clothes are either falling off or too loose to look right
I won’t toss them because sure I’ll gain the weight back and I’ll need those larger clothes for the start of next summer’s camping trip

I have to ask what cavendish potatoes are. I’ve seen them mentioned a few times here and wondering if it’s a recipe or a type of potato that’s not grown in western Canada

Tonight I made ham and cheese quesadillas served with red grapes, sugar snap peas, and sliced carrots. I picked up chocolate milk on sale, so we had that to drink.

Tomorrow’s supper is steak ($5.99/lb), fresh fried mushrooms, bagged salad ($1.95), potato or M&C.

Cavendish is a brand of frozen potato products. They made French fries, wedges, different potato shapes, etc.
