Has anyone else ran into this yet?

I tried to use a load of coupons Saturday that were about to expire May 31 and after I spent time sorting out all the coupons I wanted to use and listing them on excel to make it easier at London Drugs, I gave all the coupons in order with the products only to be told that there is a new coupon policy. (I had a copy of the policy from a few months ago that their Head Office emailed).
Apparently their new policy dated April 29th, states (according to Manager and other staff at the LD store), they can't put more than 1 coupon with the same UPC on the same transaction. In other words, I had 3 sets of Olay facial moisturizer and body products (each individual set had different UPC's) but the 3 sets had some duplicates (like the brandsaver) and I was told they'd have to ring up the transactions individually. That would have been fine with me except the cashier mixed up the coupons and ended up with a huge total for me to pay, when it should have been about $2.00 or $3.00 dollars.
I had also Febreeze candles, Gillette Fusion, Cascade wub1, etc. It was such a disaster I just said "forget it". I had already paid the first amount $19.77 and then I was told the next "transaction" was another $14.00, and there was still another set to go. Although I was at the CS, there were people behind me and I just felt so frustrated after all the work I had done to be organized and make it easy for the cashier.
Anyway, they had to ring it all back in and give me back the coupons. It was late and I didn't feel like trying to figure out what they had done.
I looked over the receipt and credit today and looks like (along with mixing up the coupons and missing some) the body washes which were advertised at $2.99 were scanning at $6.99.
I will probably go back this month and will sort everything out for individual transactions.

Yes, this happend to me once. There was a lady at the CS desk she was ringing it through 1 item at a time. She said I cant use 2 same UPC coupons even if I had 2 items on the same transaction. It was taking so long like 20 mins for 4 items I got fed up and saved it for next time. Not sure if they are misunderstanding the policy or is it just a dumb rule.

stacked at LD this past saturday and was told the same - separate transactions for the same item if you purchase multiples, they don't want the same coupon showing up on the receipt more than once regardless of how many you buy

wow that's really weird! how would they know that you're using 2 coupons in one transaction, it's not like they write down which coupon each customer uses! :S

I think this is quite strange.....it doesn't show up on the receipt as a "febreze candle coupon" just as a coupon sooooooo what is that all about anyways???

I see you are in Alberta. Which LD were you at? I've been stacking at the Calgary Richmond Rd location for the last few weeks. Since I started going to CS to price match and stack, I haven't had any troubles, although I don't often buy more of one product. The CS ladies are great, very supportive and really impressed with how much I save.

That is odd. It makes no sense to me. I was just at LD (actually 2 different ones) a few days ago and bought mulitiples and used the stacked coupons that were the same and had no problem. Mind you I also had 1 cashier take the full $10 off the Fusion and the other location would only take $9.99 off.
LD reeeeeeeally needs to straighten up and fly right. They seem to be having so many different "policies" it is way to confusing for the customer.

The thing is LD has been stacking forever. I would imagine that if the manufacturers had a problem with it they would have said something long ago.

I did multiple stacking on the weekend with no problems here in the Lower Mainland (BC) and one store that I thought didn't stack now does, so that was a pleasant surprise! One cashier tried to deny me and I quoted their poilicy and he backed down. Maybe it really does vary from store to store! Sorry to hear you got hassled so much!

I'm planning another LD trip this weekend and I would rather not have to do separate orders for the same items. If I have to I guess I will because you can't beat the deal but knowing about it pre shopping would be good so I can prepare my coupons to be on separate bills.
I'm going to be shopping in Edmonton, haven't decided which LD yet? Winkerstones, which LD were you at?Join SWAGBUCKS! I've made over $1000 so far! Click here to join!!
