*IMPORTANT* Private Messages Limit to be Reduced to 100

I really need an address book on here. I have one 'file' that I keep the addresses in when people PM me. I guess they can just resend their addy each time, but it makes RAOK well...kind of less "random" or a surprise.

I have several trains out at once and file each train under a different sub heading (file folder) in my Inbox... with the limit being dropped to 200... that is 'total' not per file (I don't need 200 per file). But I can see 200 filling quickly if there are several trains, trades and PM's coming in per day.

Suggestions!! I don't want to loose PM's because the box fills quickly! What do I do? ESP: when we have holidays coming up and it's bound to have lots in that time period.

Thanks Boo! It just makes total sense. We've been encountering lots of problems with poor connection (error messages 408 and 503) before. It was really a pain. Good you've figured it out and I'm very pleased that it's not happening anymore. Great job

I'm always deleting my PMs, no problem here. But I think we do need clarification as to whether those 100 PMs include the sent box as well.

I think it would include everything.

I don't know why I keep all my messages, especially since I have all the PMs sent to my personal email automatically...so I have them twice!!

Is the new limit - 100 messages for the INBOX, and 100 for the OUTBOX?

And is there a way to automatically forward incoming messages to a gmail account?

I think it would include everything.

That would mean 50 for your inbox and 50 for sent box. We would be constantly deleting daily. 100 for both sounds reasonable.

I strongly recommend you download your private messages first to avoid deleting something important by mistake:

1. Go to http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/private.php
2. Scroll to the bottom
3. Download all Private Messages as: XML | CSV | Text
4. Download your messages in all 3 formats, you have nothing to lose.

I don't see the point of keeping messages in your sent folder, you can uncheck this, when you email someone it always quotes the last reply in the textbox doesn't it?

I don't delete my messages until both people have received the trade. I still have 217 messages in my inbox. If I delete them before I receive the trade then I won't know who I'm expecting envie's from. But I suppose I can leave just one message from each trade, and delete all the others. Though I would be afraid to do that incase I have a problem with a trade, I wouldn't be able to look back on our conversations. LOL! I think I am doing too many trades!

We could just write down people's names that we are trading with so that we remember. Also, you can still send messages to people on their profile to save inbox space. Just a thought.
