ExpiredHi everyone, I'm having a REALLY hard time getting started with this whole coupon collecting. I look around the stores all the time and barely find any and when I see all these amzing deals you all get it really makes me wonder how you do it and how I have no coupons. I really would like to start trading and doing trains but I have no where near enough coupons to do that.
If you AMAZING couponers have any advice or help, I would appreciate it soo much. I really need to start saving money

I "shop" for my coupons at the IGA where they never have good deals. I get alot of great coupons from there and take them elsewhere to shop.

Yes, yes, yes, April go coupon shopping. I go on Mondays and Tuesdays and i find for my area that is the best time. I guess after the weekend rush they have time to put out what they get in. Also keep your eyes peeled for special displays of a certain product. many times there will be cardboard displays with coupons on them. I was like you walking around not even noticing them before. Don't worry you will get the hang of it very fast.

Where do you shop? I usually don't find many coupons at No Frills, Price Chopper or Loblaws/RCSS.
I usually find them at Sobeys and Metro (but I never shop there)

I don't know if you have a CO-OP in your area but I get some good coupons there because they are not as busy as larger stores therefore the coupons are normally still there. But yes I agree the best idea is to take a couple hrs a week and go "coupon hunting". Best to do it when you are not in a rush and you can take your time going from aisle to aisle.

Thanks from me, too. I'm in the same boat as Miss April. I looked at SaveOn, Safeway, and Walmart on Friday and Saturday, and only found 3 different coupons. None of them were anything spectacular. I guess I need to go at the beginning of the week instead.

The other 2 things I would recommend is to watch when the coupon flyers come out and try and grab a bunch of those because sometimes they have great coupons (especially for those who can stack). The other thing is to order for save.ca and if you have a friend or relative that will let you mail things to their house that is great to get a few.
Also some people post some great bundles for stamps as well as to get on a few trains. With the trains you will need some coupons to replace things with.
I know some of the friends and family sometimes keep coupons for me and I often get some that way. At times they hit different stores and might be in the right place a the right time to get some of the rarer coupons.
I have also gotten a few good coupons asking the reps if I see them in the stores. Occasionally they will have coupons they can share.
