I colour my hair. My genetics have me going grey quite young....and I don't like it.

When I started doing it, I was just doing it at the salon...now I do it home. I use Garnier Nutrisse Cream.
My Trade List Saved $1993 in 2010..trying to beat that in 2011

I go to the salon every 8-10 weeks and get mine done I use to do it at home but liked going in to kinda treat myself and I like how it turns out better. I've just been getting lots of light high lights lately.

How much do the highlights cost you in the salon?
I've always wanted to do that, but I hear it's very expensive, and hard to maintain.

I've dyed my hair since I was 16, not brand loyal...I have had my hair various different colours, from blue, pink and purple, to just black blonde or red. Right now it's two toned with blonde on top and purple on the bottom. I've always done it myself.

I've gotten highlights done a few times. It all depends on your length of hair really, it can be anywhere from 50-200 dollars. Some price them per foil

I've been to First Choice once and left crying. I will never go there again.
What salon leaves you "finished" with your hair still damp? I wouldn't call first choice professional, it is like a poor man's salon.
I have got my bangs trimmed there once though since then, I mean you can't screw that up.

I always do my hair at home. I head over to the beauty shops they have in malls and such since most of those have salon colors. The regular dyes will *always* fade out of my hair fast.

Depends on the length of your hair & how much your getting, etc...You can always go in and ask them how much it would be

Long story short I go to an awesome salon now after years of using every colour of every kind of dye out there. I just it got re-dyed and it's 3 tones of a dark brown and looks amazing, mainly because I get protein treatments now.
If you have damaged/really curly hair I fully recommend getting protein treatments if you can. I didn't buy into it at first because I'm a tightwad and because I keep my hair short now anyway, but I didn't realize how massive a difference it really makes, and the colour is super shiny and healthy!

I don't know the ins and outs but it's some kind of an intensive moisturizer for damaged hair, kind of like a hot oil treatment. After massaging it into the hair you sit under a hair dryer for about an hour and then it's rinsed out.
How often you get them depends on just how damaged your hair is, my hair is quite high maintenance so I started with it every week for a month then every two weeks for a couple months, and I hope it'll settle down to once a month now. It's about $25 a treatment which for me is worth it, I've been fighting with my hair my whole life and I'm finally winning!
You should be able to get them done at any black hair salon and you can take it home and do it yourself too if you like. While I'm on my high horse I recommend this stuff! http://www.sabob.com/products/Fantas...h_Serum,1.html

I am 100% faithful to my hairdresser. I will give up everything except my hair dressing appt. and I do it every 3 months. Colour, Highlights and cut - I have the same guy for the past 15yrs and never pay over 120.00. I would do whatever I had to just to get my hair done.
It makes me feel good, never disappointed, I know I have some greys in there.
As a women, we usually put ourselves last, we need to do it for ourselves. We deserve it!!!!!!
