My mum used to cut my hair when i was a kid - think that all changed when i hit my teens, but i have never, ever cut my kids hair. I'm just not that handy!
Daughter went for a haircut just before school finished and unfortuntely the woman who has cut her hair since she was little(daughter is now a teen) had moved somwhere else so someone new cut it for her.
Oh heavens what a complete disaster that was. She left the salon and immediately burst into tears, cried all the way home. We washed it, she cried. We tried to style it, she cried. I went back out for mousse and hairspray. She was crying when i left and crying when i got back. It was way to short. It wasn't what she'd asked for.
Thank goodness for her friends - they were surprised but all very supportive.
Now all i have to do is find out where my original hairdresser popped off to so i don't have to go through that again.

I think it depends on your childs hair. I cut my dds until she was 3 1/2. It grew way too think and its perfectly straight so It would show any mistakes really easily. If it was curly Id still cut it. I liked Sharkeys. I got a discount for working in the plaza. The stylists was really good cause my dd wouldnt sit still she ended up sitting her on HER lap and cutting her hair. I just get her hair cut in a short bob and then I dont have to cut it too often when it grows out. I do cut her bangs though.

I would cut her hair, but she's only got 2 inches (she's 7 months) so I figure when she gets older I'll just have a bottle of wine, screw up my courage (or her hair) and try!
