Not everyone loves Santa, or the Christmas rigmarole,
Maybe they feel that way because they once got a lump of coal,
Naughty or Nice is a credo, we remember when December rolls around,
& classy men don a tuxedo, & we seem to find that extra pound,
All of the Christmas goodies & all of the Christmas stories,
All of the Christmas traditions that get filed in our inventories,
Kitchens that go into overdrive & sinks piled with them dirty prep dishes,
& those backseat cooks who drive you nuts, may not get any Christmas kisses,
The only advice I can offer you is to take all the Christmas-ing in stride,
Do not feel obliged to do too much as it's a time to be bone fide,
Don't go getting into any debt,
Or you'll find yourself dealing with post Christmas regret,
If you do Christmas Crackers, the paper hats must be worn by all,
Pace yourself while dining & be glad that you're not at the mall,
Raise your glasses to all those folks who are worthy of a toast,
& keep your complaints to yourself or you'll upset the host,
When the time comes for cleaning up be a willing volunteer,
Then lower yourself into a comfy chair, have dessert & a glass of liqueur,
As you know Christmas comes & goes so fast & we'll be ringing in the New Year in style,
& you're all invited over to Loocie's basement just remember to bring your best smile.

Here in the GTA we could be battered with between 15-20 centimetres of snow, mostly hitting Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
