For all my friends who are bystanders to friends & family who are dealing with "it". Your support & humour are truly appreciated.
You never know what lies around the corner or may lie in wait,
Illnesses endeavour to take over & will even try to dictate,
You examine life in depth & with hope you continue along,
Stories of endurance inspire with a brave nudge to be strong,
You do not live with cancer; “it” tries to live with you,
As “it” is most deserving of a heave-ho & a rather blunt adieu,
The burden & weight of sadness can almost pull down the sky,
For no logic can be grasped & fairness does not apply,
So unkind, unsophisticated & unmannered; such audacity!
We know “it” has no standing when before the ethics committee,
When things like “it” slither into our lives it is a wake up call,
I wish “it” was an app - which no power could ever install!
