Hmm, I think Koodoo has some cheap plans, although you do have to buy the phone. It might work out to be cheaper for you in the long run.

I have Rogers pay as you go. $100/year.... 39 cents per minute 8AM to 8PM Mon-Fri, 1 cent per minute anytime after that. I travel a lot, and this is the only cell phone company that has international roaming to most countries (pricey though) with pay as you go.

I just switched from Bell to Virgin Mobile and I'm really happy with the service, all their options, and the flexibility they offer. I looked at all the pay-as-you-go offerings and for my current needs and future needs it was the best choice for me.
Right now they are running a promo with $50 worth of airtime included with the purchase of a prepaid phone: http://www.virginmobile.ca/pages/en/...tivation_offer
If you don`t want one with a full slide-out keyboard, Best Buy has the Samsung R610 Rockbox Edition slider phone (I have this one) on sale for $59.99 (Virgin has it on for $79.99): http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/prodde...gon=&langid=EN
It came with earphones and
a 512MB memory card.
Check it out and see if it`s a good fit for you. Good luck!
Edit: If I recall correctly, I think for really low usage, the 7-11 Speakout phones work out to be the cheapest option. They`ve had special promos on that reduce the cost of the phone when you buy $100 of airtime. Their expiry dates are the longest at 365 days, when I last checked. So you may want to do a few searches on them too.
Oh, and check out this site to compare plans: http://www.comparecellular.com/compa...ns_step1.asp?l=Last edited by cmagnum; Wed, Aug 5th, 2009 at 12:23 AM.
