Lakehead University (Thunder Bay, Ontario) is offering free tuition for Canadian students coming directly from a recognized Canadian high school with a 95% average. That’s right, free tuition for a 4-year degree! This offer should help Lakehead University attract the best and the brightest, especially with the rising cost of education.

    Details:
    • Renewable for up to four years at the same level
    • Must maintain an average of 85% or higher each subsequent academic year to receive the full tuition scholarship
    • Amended to tiered amounts if the student’s average is below 95% or below 85% in subsequent years at Lakehead University
    • No application is necessary. This deal is automatically awarded
    • The only scholarship of its kind in Ontario

Thanks! Too bad they didnt have this when I was graduating high school (could have saved 16000$). Plus would have dreamed of a 70% let alone a 95%.

    This is an amazing offer!

From someone who just graduated from a 4-yr program, this would have definitely been helpful!

Don't know about maintaining that average through university though

I think if you have that kind of average, every university will give you free tuition.

I just finished first year university and i had the average going in and i ended up with the required average but i didn't go to school for free. Not every university does it so that is an amazing deal!

Keep in mind you need 95% to qualify for this. And you need to maintain the above mentioned average while you are there.

Many people don't consider this university because it is all the way up in Thunder Bay, so this is more incentive for many.

They also have a distance education program.... I wonder if distance students would qualify?

, are you saying that I live up in the middle of no where hehe. I went to LU and believe it of not, it really isn't a bad school. I got a good basic education and it opened doors to graduate school.
    Now I'm very edjamacated
