What is your most embarassing moment?
I'll start. I think I've already told the folks on the PnP thread, so for anyone else interested, here goes.
When I was in my early 20s, I took my Mom to see Hamlet at a theatre in downtown Toronto. I had visions of a prim & proper night of Shakespeare. & I was thrilled that I'd managed to score tickets, near the front, dead centre.
The lights came up and...Hamlet & Ophelia were slow dancing. In front of a bed. I didn't remember that from English class, but, hey, it's up to each company how to adapt a play. Right?
Then the lights went down. My Mom leaned over & asked me what the actors were doing in the corner in the dark. Were they changing their clothes? Hmmm. Really didn't remember that part.
The lights came up again, and...there stood Hamlet. Alone, a few feet in front of us (did I mention this was a small theatre?). & without a stick of clothing on. Doing a soliloquy. While Ophelia lay naked on the bed.
My eyes immediately went down...to my feet. That was it for the nudity, but my eyes never left the floor. Kept wishing I'd brought one of my friends instead of my Mom.
My Mom thought it was hilarious. She couldn't wait to tell my Dad when we got home.
We still talk about naked Hamlet. :lolsign:
A few yrs ago I was at an event & was introduced to naked Hamlet. The poor actor must have thought I was crazy. I couldn't make eye contact, no matter how hard I tried. :embarassed:
So, who's next?
