You have a lovely weekend, too, Cabbie...as to those sweet/salty snacks, we have diabetes in our family so I just have to keep thinking of that old commercial "Trix is for kids."....not grown-ups. We could get away with far more negligent eating and nibbling when we were all kids, but that changes and we have to start eating like healthy grown-ups. I do occasionally buy that $2 bag of jelly-bellies at the buck store, but very occasionally and not since I started this diet. Keep up the good work, Cab!!

Hey, congratulations on losing, Cabbie!! I know how hard it is, there are so many temptations out there, but I have a smaller size pair of jeans hanging on the outside of my closet door to remind me why I'm on this diet, because I want to get into them! Simple as that. Also tops.....other slacks...I have them because I was that size before my fall. Keep up the great work; you must be feeling that loss by now, too. I just picture my weight loss in terms of carrying around 10lb bags of potatoes strapped to my body...so far I've dumped nearly 2 bags of 'em!! hahaha!!! Take good care, Hon!

especially if you are a larger person ( which I am atm ) Buffet judgemental people are usually skinny mini's!! ha ha I usually find that guys can get away with loading a plate up and they can strut back with no shame but women are tougher on themselves. Another long w/e finished....back to the grind for many today.

Our family usually orders water when we dine. Not just for avoiding the sugar and calories but also I get so ticked at what places charge for a darn pop! That is the stingy side of me, I have no issue dropping $30.00 for a steak meal though...lol

Hi, Cabbie! Congrats on your work-outs and sticking with a healthier way of eating. I'm down 16, but of course mis-behaved for Mother's Day dinner....no worries, back on track, although I didn't have any gluten...but ohhhh, that garlic/cheese bread was tempting!! I had steak and my own coleslaw that everyone had, and that creme brulee...oh, my, who could resist that stuff?! I had no intention of doing that, ever! Depending on your restaurant, there are always healthy choices, but if you fall off the wagon a little, it won't harm your progress, just get back in the saddle tomorrow! Enjoy your dinner with your Aunt!

Happy ( belated ) Birthday cabbie!!! Enjoy your outing next week with your Aunt.

see? that is what I call small steps, and it takes those to appreciate the progress. THAT is how we have to approach this road back to being and feeling healthier. I know you will be able to do more and more of the ddp.

Cabbie, your meals and portions look perfect; looks like you're on track for weight-loss! Don't be discouraged if you lose just 1-2lbs a week....after dieting for so many years, when I lost those almost 50 lbs, it was slow and steady and you'd be surprised at how fast 10 lbs comes off! One other thing I discovered about slower weight loss...whenever I've hard-dieted, if I ever binged one evening, I'd gain more back than anyone would call 'fair'. But losing slowly, I found that I could enjoy going out once in a while, eating off my diet, having wine, and there would be little to no difference in my weight! It was sure an eye-opener! So now, losing slowly like I am, I know that I can have wine in an evening and not set myself back a week!
Keep up the great work...it's hard, it sure is, but SO worth it!!

and you know the slow loss is actually better? Apparently we have a better chance of keeping it from coming back if we lose it a little slower.
Isn't that tough though when we are anxious for big numbers to drop?? Fingers crossed for us both!

you know what? I can honestly say I've never ever punched one of those. I see it all the time in tv shows, so many fit people seem to use those to do their workouts.....especially when they are pissed off at someone....ha ha
  11. View Conversation
oh congrats on that!! Hope you get some decent results from the workouts. I just hit a wall trying to buy another Perfect Pancake Pan. ( it was As Seen On tv a while back ) The one I bought a few years ago from GT ( in the store for like $15.00 or so ) is kinda warped now and scratched. Anyhow now GT does not carry it and they want way too much for it on Amazon. Sigh....I'll keep my eyes open for them in my travels though, sometimes these items pop up where you least expect them.

ha ha can ya believe it cab? ME? sort of running to the back of a store and not twisting an ankle or breaking a sweat! It's was a miracle. lol

it does! ( make you feel engaged in your workouts ) We bought a pricey old fashioned looking gym mat that unfolds, like this one.

It is very firm, is wide enough for my body ( ha ha ) and long enough for the taller people here.

pfft! I hear ya, real so called yoga mats are all overpriced.

I think the CAA ones are tied to the Samplesource freebie. That's alright. It makes my recycling box feel useful and gives me some exercise hauling it to the curb every two weeks. Think of it as a free exercise program.

It had to come from some site handing out freebies. It was my pseudonym.

we do that too, flip breakfast and dinner around. Our favourite is breakfast for dinner! If anyone offers to scramble up a bunch of eggs and make toast, we all come out of the woodwork for it...lol.

oh cab, I feel wonderful again for the first time in a while! This is only day 2 for me BUT cutting out the coffee and gluten always seem to kick start my well being. My GUT well being that is. Fingers crossed I stay dedicated this time.

I think it is way smarter for you to stay safe indoors and pedal! That is a great alternative cab. I despise ice on walkways now. When I worked for years and slipped or fell I just lived with the bruises, etc. but NOW at this weight ( and a bit older ) I am terrified I could really get hurt!
I am heading downstairs to watch the Leaf game now...ta ta !!

I read about your banana deal! Good you took the time to peel all and freeze them. So useful when you want that quick smoothie!

Cabbie, my DH and I totally redecorated the kids' billiard room in soft grey, deeper grey, with orange accents. Orange and grey compliment each ither beautifully!
