we had a mutual friend of our best man who was adamant that her kids never wear clothing with brand names on them or other words promoting God knows what? Her food choices for the family back then were interesting too, but in hindsight she was a health nut with a great heart and good intentions and will probably outlive all of us. ha ha

These days I am so grateful to have some energy back! I wake up excited to see what I can get done that day. What a switch from where I was

The Dr. Poon thing I am on is covered by OHIP. All you need is for your Dr. to refer you to their Clinic. You need to have ONE other medical reason in conjunction with being overweight or obese though. Things such as high BP, Type 2 Diabetes, heart disease, etc. Most people fit that category especially these days where it seems everyone we know is on meds for something.
I don't know if there is one of his Clinics out where you live but you could search online to se.

when I was growing up our family never knew anything different than squeezing us youngest 3 kids along the back wall where only 2 would comfortably fit....the older 3 got better seating, ha ha ..I am kind of coming down from all the hype of Christmas now. Soon I will have to face tearing down the decor ( at least no huge tree to deal with ).

I bought the large bag of chopped " safe to eat " Romaine at FreshCo, mainly cuz DH loves his Caesar salads. I ate some today and so far am ok....for now. Also what is up with fresh cauliflower? I saw it was $3.50 or something and then in next weeks flyers they have it for $1.88. I just buy the frozen bags of unblemished florets for $1.99 and I never have to worry about it going bad before I get to it.

oh yes! I always forget that you have the g'kids. We are still in that zone of just us and the last 2 hangers on living at home....lol.
I discovered a great cheat today! That special card Sobeys sent me, scan it 4 times spend $40.00 ea time, get 40 AM ea time, then a25 Am bonus on the 4th. So I had already done 2 shops on Blue Mon. no biggie BUT today I loaded $40.00 on a Sobeys GC, scanned that special card and GOT the 40 AM! So I loaded another Sobeys GC with $40.00 and this time I paid with the first GC I just bought!! ha ha ha

same for us. The kids had given us a variety of restaurant GC's and we still have a Red Lobster and The Keg left, plus 2 LCBO cards. DH still has 2 of his large Xmas bottles ( one Amaretto and one Crown Royal ) that are still over half full because he says he has very little craving for them. Funny how that happens?
When he gets in from work he says that the last thing he'd want to do is drink, so they sit untouched. ha ha

The part that is just so cute is the way their little brains connect things. She's quite smart. I had a dream of a day today!! I got an 8 x10 photo of Kevin Pillar autographed in person!! ( also got a Rona employee to snap a pic of me with him!! ) He was doing a 1 hour signing at Rona's in Scarborough today and I was so lucky after waiting in line for 1 1/2 hrs I got my turn! They did not let many in past me because his hour was already up and they were warning the remaining people in line that they had to cut it off.

I just love this give and take system we take part in....the things I am able to purge find a good home in someone else's life and vice versa. The place I go to also gives a discount card for donations which I think encourages people not to just dump things in the land fill. I only had to go out 2 times today, had my fill of sunshine from just that...lol.

oooohhhh nice!! Free swim...the best kind. especially in this dogged heat. We are anxiously awaiting DD's return from her w/e with her g/f's. I hate making myself worry, but when she does not pick up when I have called her cell a few times now......the panic starts!

oh truly that was a tragic thing to have happened. Our Saturday was kinda meh? My DS has managed to catch " something " His throat hurts to swallow and sounds like a nasty cold as well. Both DH and him are way bigger babies, our DD catches these types of things many times but still plows through her job, etc. He just looks like a lost puppy, I dare not ask him to do anything or he'll faint I am sure....lol
They call these " Man colds " I think.

it was Gordon Ramsey! I just remembered the name on our digital toasters....lol I cannot stand the guy, never watched any of his stupid screaming tantrums on his cooking shows ( once I viewed a clip ). There is a setting that can toast bagels on the cut side without cooking the outside side.
Also with my gluten free bread everything takes extra time to brown, I have to set it at #4 just to get an average brown colour.

you had a busy morning...ugh...... my sympathies to cleaning 3 (THREE! ) toilets though. You're a saint!

I look forward to seeing the movie on DVD when I can watch at home. I don't have to explain the book title to Mom so the plan is to have the house to myself to watch it (unless of course my laptop is repaired next month, then I can watch it where I like).

I had a red faced moment at Metro this a.m. I walked into bakery area and asked the gal if there were any Father's Day cupcakes or 1/2 sized cakes I could get , she goes " well we might have some next week " and I said " why next week ? " It's because Father's Day is next week!! ha ha
Then we both laughed and I said " I'll see ya next week! " Just before that I had spent time and money at the Dollar store getting cards and gag gifts for DH thin king I was so late picking him anything up.....now I am a whole week ahead!

honestly...with my weight being so " fluid " these past 2 years I need a few different ( aka larger ) sizes of tops and pants on hand. My worst nightmare is having to go somewhere fancy...all my nice clothes do not fit anymore. Oh well, I've been back on my healthier eating plan now since April 2nd....there was no sense starting it on April Fools day now was there? ...lol
It's been slow going ( the weight loss I mean) but since every day I am slow moving in retirement I cannot expect a miracle.
