Yes. much to explore. I've pretty much done it all, already. Between all my pleasure/business trips to Paris, I must have lived close to 5 months in Paris. So now, I'm spending my weekend working in the hotel room

I've just been really, really busy. Both at work and at home (with renos). Leaving tomorrow evening for Paris, won't be back until Sept. 18, than flying to Mtl on the 21, back on the 24. Crazy! Haven't been posting on here, 'cuz I don't have time to rep and don't feel it is right to post without repping much.

Forunately we were not in Halifax whohc got it the worst. They still are not sure if it was a low hurricaine 1 or tropical storm... WE did drive in it as we changed locations almost daily.. Sounds like you had a good time at Reif. I visited them about 3 years ago, and I liked their wines. I really like Tawse, although they're on the expensive side. Same with Stratus. Have a good web conference!

This week is draging for me too for some strange reason
We have been to many there and 2 summers ago we happened upon one that was celebrating its 25th anniversary. They had wine tasing and they had us sit down at a long table... We had samplings of their wine back to their fist batch and even some unfiltered wine. No charge either. The winerie is Reif. Located on Niagara on the Lake. I drank only white wine for years, and suddenly a few years back I began drinking red. It used to give me a bad headache... no more. I have a preference to Merlot, however I will try others... Enjoy Paris! my stepson is arriving from London tonight and is bring me some Crunchie Nuggets... or so he told me... Did you know that they have chocolate mini wheats... I find them rather sweet.... as my usually cereal hasn't any sugar...

The week IS dragging on. I think it's my 1st 5 days at the office since mid-June. No wonder I find the week long. I'm leaving for Paris Saturday night. Gone for one week again. Not too happy with the timing, but what can you do?
For my wine tasting, I always buy at the LCBO. I try to go to Niagara once a year. What are you favourite wineries?

For your grape/wine tasting, is it from wine you have made yourself or wine from botlles bought at the LCBO? Have you ever gone to wine tasting around the Niagara region? The wineries are exceptional. Our Canadian wine country!

Hi, I'm soooo tired. We never went to bed before midnight, but the kitty didn't care. At 7am everyday, he would start batting my nose, than walking all over my face until he got a reaction. The kids just loved the cat, and the cat just loved all the attention. He was quite desperate for attention when we got home from work today.
All I can say about the blind wine tasting is: I need to practice
My wife doesn't drink, so she will pour 4 different wines, and we know which wine. The trick is to identify which is which. This time, we did 4 different grapes from 4 different country. Sometimes it's 4 different grapes from the same country, or the same grape from 4 different countries. I identified a big 0. The goal is to eventually identify the grape and origin without even knowing what bottles I'm tasting.

It will be another busy weekend here, as my brother and family are visiting from Mtl (arriving tonight). I hope we get decent weather over the weekend. It's my sister-in-law birthday soon, so we'll go out for dinner one night, I'm inviting a friend over to do some blind wine tasting (always fun), enjoy the pool, watch some movies, play some Rock Band, introduce my new kitty to them... Should be lots of fun...

You are right. He could so easily get burned. I never thought about mosquito or other insect bites. What will you do with him when you go away?

I was relieved to see that our kitty is not the only one choking whenever he drinks. We're trying to teach him to slow down. He's pretty smart. I just posted that I took the day off so I could go to the dentist. What an absolutely gorgeous day! I kept an eye on the kitty, and he seemed to sleep most of the day. Since he has no fur, we're not keen on letting him go outside, because of sunburns and insect bites. Vacation? We're heading to Chicago for the August long weekend. Otherwise, I'm heading back to Paris on the 17th of July (but that's work, not vacation). How about you?

Hello, the new kitty is adorable. We called him Quark, in honor of the Ferengi alien on Star Trek DS9 (he was bald and had big ears). He really started coming out of his shell on Friday, and by Sunday we had to tie down everything that is not already fastened to the walls or floors. He sleeps with us, which is great. The only problem is when he drinks, he often starts coughing like he wants to pass a hairball. Got us a bit worried.

How was your day lazing by the pool? I was in a pool too! a pool of sweat!
Actually did 5 loads of laundry and they all dried outside, including my king sheets....That makes me happy. No need to use a dryer!

CHOM used to use it as part of a break... I can hear it in my mind... but maybe they no longer do that. While I searched for it, Iended up finding all this musich from the late 70'a and 80's... You bet on the wrong horse yesterday, I didn't win ticket. I did check Ticketmaster, and there are good seats left. But we're supposed to go to Hamilton to pick up our new cat that evening, and my wife doesn't want to go to the concert... she wants her kitten! Free tickets would have been a different story.
