Thanks for the rep. I am really hoping for a better Christmas this year. It is very tempting to stay home with DH and I've seriously considered it, but I still have one Grandmother alive whose health isn't the best (she's 87), so I'm going to be with her on Christmas day. I'm trying to avoid the alcoholic at all costs - I learned my lesson last year!
I hope your Christmas goes well and that your brother - eventually - reaches out to reconnect - if not for himself, at least so his daughter can be close to her family and enjoy time with them
