Wow another cruise. My good friends are going on a cruise to Alaska in August.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I had something for just a day or two over a couple of weeks ago and I still have a lingering cough.

I try to keep up with the thread a bit, but mostly in and out so I am not up to speed on what everybody is up to. Busy again today with a guy off sick and we have just booked an Alaska cruise that goes in 3 1/2 weeks (I know you feel really sorry for me). Our best friends have never been on a cruise and when I casually mentioned my wife was looking at it, they said "let's go". We had already decided to pass on the trip and look at other options including just staying home, but we couldn't pass up the chance to get them on a cruise, so we are going!

I think I have to give up my freedom 55 dream as there is no way my wife will let me retire before the end of today. The new dream is freedom 56!

I'm just that kind of guy. Family room was completed a while ago, but we are still waiting for furniture. We are using reclining lawn chairs in the mean time! The office next to the family room also needed to be properly insulated, so we decided to do that too. All the renovation is done now, but there is a ton of stuff to put back into place but it is not all going back exactly as before, so it leaves lots to do. Been trying to do some of that while watching a bit of the game, but with it 3 -zip, I will probably hit the hay. I see you have been a little less active recently too.

To answer your question, your rep from Monday had the spinning lady. I forget how it goes, but some people see it rotating clockwise and other see it rotating counterclockwise depending on which side of the brain is dominant.

I have been on a couple of cruises. the first was billed for young people by the average age was over 70 and I was 21... the second cruise was on a smll schooner. About 22 people on board. Oldest was late 50s. We cruised around Greece. I loved it. My mother inlaw just got back from one and she is 83 and very active. she was complaining about thye old people. My stepson and his gf were on a cruie a coue of years ago and they has their own private balcony.... He has good taste and a pocket book to match...

I don't recall if you have cruised before but with the small ship we went to small ports and had to tender most of the time (not able to dock; have to take lifeboats to shore). Twice during the trip there were only 4 passengers on the first tender of the day; that's us and two other people! I think most of the people were still charging their pacemakers! Usually, the first tender is packed to the gils (about 100 people on our tenders, I think). Even at breakfast we were always able to get a table outside, right at the back of the ship and there was no waiting to get an omlete started.

Time to go back to sorting through the mess here at home; still renovating the family room!

Been busy since getting back from Vacation and now it seems to be a distant memory. It was a really nice ship with great service. The ship was small and we felt the motion a bit, but not enough to bother me. The cruise line told us that the demographic was upscale 30's and 40's but I tink the average age was double that. I swear that my wife who is still in her 40's (she keeps reminding me of that but won't be able to after September!) was younger than everybody except for one couple and maybe one other woman (out of almost 700 passengers).
