  1. Thanks for Rep. You're very kind.
  2. Hi Grace's Mommy. No, It's for Springwater News. How's Alliston these days?
  3. Well, that's a great break. . .especially with little ones. Hope that offer comes through for you guys! Home Depot has a sale on kitchens I think? lol
  4. its pretty new.. just need to paint my 2 daughters rooms and do some things like that but otherwise its move in ready! eventually we'll re-do the floors and the kitchen but its not really in need - got lucky!
  5. Oh Awesome! I didn't realize you already bought the other place! So can you do some painting decorating before you move in??
  6. well, the home imspection takes place on saturday and we've set the closing date as march 14th. the sooner the better for us since we live in a 2 bdrm and we just had our 2nd baby back in october so she'll be needing her own room soon. the house we bought is empty - as most usually are in angus since theyre military postings- so the sooner the better
  7. Well, I certainly hope it works out for you. What kind of time frame are you hoping for?
  8. its 100 year old home so altho we've completely redone everything it certainly has its imperfections. i think it takes a certain buyer for a house of this age. no, the 2nd offer was the one we decided on as it was a better suit for us.
  9. Hmmm. Well with an old house like that, a potential owner would have to be crazy to expect perfection. Most people that gravitate to those older homes put up with "imperfections" in order to enjoy the character of the home. It MUSt be nice if you have 2 offers in. . ?
That's great that it's not conditional on financing cause that can take awhile if they were going through a bank. What about the other offer? Does it look good as a secondary hopeful?
  10. yeah, we really do. my hubby and i often say in the summertime to take a roadtrip somewhere but where? we have everything you'd look for here! our showing went well...we got 2 offers in. we're working on 1 now where its just conditional of a home inspection to happen on saturday. we're not out of the woods yet (we have a verrrry old house that we've remodeled) but hopefully everything will be good to go! keep your fingers crossed for us!
as for the liquigator, no we didnt get a chance to go but since we need to be out of thse house for a few hours on sat. maybe we can stop there.
  11. Gotta say. .. not in Angus alot. .. but in Barrie all the time. I actually REALLy like Barrie (maybe just to shop in) but I love all thevariety and selection in such a small city. We really have the best of everything around here (at least as far as I'm concerned)
Don't worry! you'll do great in Alliston. . .and there's nothing like family nearby. Family's important.
Hey! How did you're showing go Sunday?. . and did you make the big trip to Liquigator? LOL!!
  12. i will miss midland for sure - im not much of a big city driver (not that angus is big city) but barrie is a huge difference then midland - bayfield and mapleview BLECH!. change of scenery will be nice. plus, my husbands brother in law is at base borden so it'll be nice to have family that close! do you visit angus often/ever?
  13. I think I registered on SC in 2010 but I had been viewing it for at leats a year before that. . . I realized I should be contributing rather then just taking. . .so I finally registered. I "use" coupons alot but I haven't traded or anything. . don't have the time to do it that extensively.
In regards to Alliston, I agree the Honda plant shutting down would have a negative effect BUT it's still a satelite town of the GTA in a very picturesque setting. I don't think it would be the end of the world. .
Are you going to miss Midland or are you looking forward to the change of scenery?
  14. alliston is really expensive.. angus isnt bad. the problem with purchasing a house in alliston is that if anything ever happend to honda where it shut down it'd be a ghost town. angus is nice becaue of the military keeping the housing market up and its not far from barrie. ive been in midland all my life.. (im 29). how long have you been on SC? do you coupon much?
  15. Alliston's a pretty little town. How do the prices compare to Midland? Probably a bit more, eh? How long did you live in Midland? I've been here about 11 yrs.
  16. no, angus actually. husband works in alliston at honda. uggs.. yes, yes i do. so comfy! ive got a pair that my husband bought me a few years ago for christmas (paid full price eeek!)
  17. Cool.Where r u moving to? Staying in Midland area?
They have Ugg boots there if you like them (I LOVE them!)
  18. i agree! maybe tomorrow i'll stop by..we have a showing on our house and need to kill an hour so that'd be a great idea! thanks keep ya posted
  19. Absolutely! They`re a;ways open weekends. I believe they`re open Thurs-Sunday. My friend bought a gorgeous slide-in range there and loves it. . .also furniture. me. . .I mostly buy clothes, boots, gloves. . .that sort of thing. Let me know what you think of it! The lady that runs it always gets a kick out of me cause i take so long to go through the whole store! Why rush when you`re having a good time though, right. . .lol
  20. thats a great tip.. i should really check it out, maybe this weekend. my husband loves places like those! i think we went there once but it was closed.
  21. Yes, that's true although they have some pretty good sales in the summer. The liquigator carries mostly Costco stuff, but the best part is all the clothes are 50% off original Costco prices. . .which are pretty good already! I am forever finding good deals there. There's 2 ladies that run the store that are super nice too. You will find a little bit of everything. Furniture/rugs/food/household items/toys/clothing. . .you name it!
  22. no, ive never been... what kind of deals do they have? sometimes i check out buck and up out on balm beach road but its really a hit or miss with them
  23. Cool! Hey, do you ever go to the Liquigator in Port McNicoll? That's one of my favourite bargain stores.
  24. yep, i live in midland
  25. I live outside of Midland actually. . .but that's where I do the majority of my shopping. .
    and you?
  26. hey, are you in midland?
