I did not see the program but I agree they are extremely smart and when they work as a team, they can get anything they want! We just put our garbage out 5 mins before the guys come to get it. We have one of those Toronto Green Bin locks and they figured out they could just pry it open on the sides and scoop out what they want. LOL.
that's too bad. we had a problem with grubs in our neighbourhood a couple of years ago. a lot of our neighbours' lawns were destroyed. i don't know how they got rid of them. did you see that program on city living raccoons.. i think it was on nature of things. it showed that city raccoons may be getting smarter because they are adapting to living in the city with people. the harder we try to keep them out of our garbage cans, etc they smarter they becoming in order to survive.
That's what the neighbour said he was going after. Hmmmm Poor neighbour has a corner lot and used to have wood chips but changed it to sod. A lot went into changing the landscape. I feel so sorry for them. This racoon is something else. He just walked up to our garage door and was about to go in. My husband was standing right there! No worries for this little critter. LOL.
