pffft! I have been blaming my bad eating habits on DH for over 30 years now. lol!! If I did not have to cook for him I might every now and then skip a meal or two.
oh GRRRR! to the guy who can eat and not gain weight!! I mean those bags at Loblaws for .95 are a real steal, I know my DS would love them, I know he won't get fat on them.....but when he is at work those things call my name!!!!!
HOARDER!!!! torontogal12 has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space.
She keeps telling people to re read. There's a lot of "you" don't understand. Looks like she expired the thread. And I like how she told you that you're the one making the big deal
LOL! Seriously there's way too many sensitive people here. OMG he said something benign. HE MUST BE ACCUSING ME!!!!
You know what, I just looked up my Ottawa library account and saw your message in March. I didn't know the system could do that. It doesn't send any notification and it's not part of the system I look at very much. But yes, it is me. I didn't realise lists and recommendations travelled to different libraries.
Do you mean Goodreads? Or something else? It probably is me because it's the one I keep rememberring, but some sites I lose track of.
lol!!! I had no idea there were mushroom haters!
congrats!! I cannot even think about buying frozen, premade patties ever again. They are dead to me, lol!! Oh yes, Mmmm, add onions next time. I have even snuck in finely chopped mushrooms which DD claims she hates, but she cannot see or taste them once they are mixed in and cooked, lol!!! Thanks about the dryer ball input, I am sure she must be doing something odd that we are not.
oh hey hi! I wanted to ask you if and when you used those dryer balls did you ever get imprints on any of your clothing from the hard shaped spokes? personally I love this ball, no problem at all, but when I told my sis about using it she said that some of her sweaters got these funny spoke like patterns on them from the ball, just weird eh?
Thanks for repping me recently! Happy Canada Day!
the only thing is No refunds, store credit only within 14 days with receipt and the stuff must be in original packaging. I never " browse " there, I go for a certain thing because you can get caught up in " gadgety " items if you are not careful. My DH can stray in those types of stores sometimes....funny I think they know people are like that eh?
the vinegar was at WM I think?? Oh and look at the XScargo flyer at the BOTTOM RIGHT, the 3 panel bamboo room dividers were $29.98!!! http://www.shopxscargo.com/pages/flyer.asp I have been redecorating the place in the last 2-3 weeks and the colour of these dividers could NOT have been more perfect for our brown leather couches and then our paint on 2 small accent areas of the living/dining rooms is called BEHR Red Willow . ( funny enough it is similar to the colour of the reddish bar right above where I am typing this....ha ha sc had an impact on me! ) So, we bought 2 screens ( the regular rate for these 3 panel screens at other stores is anywhere from $ 75.00 - $180.00 ) but we had no idea they were 2 different colours until we got home, ( we only saw brown in the display ) to be con't in next message, I wrote too much lol
Rather than go back we just unhinged the middle section of each to switch the colours and added more hinges to connect the entire thing together so now we have a 6 panel screen!! Can ya tell I am excited? This now means my 2 ugly computer desks ( one holds the printer ) is hidden behind this screen and the living area is so serene now. We are NOT decorating experts at all, so little things excite us, ha ha
I am the " clutter nazi! " here, beware anyone when I get on a rampage and start tossing crap! ha ha I cannot stand it. As you said it really is " freeing " to have less, clears the cobwebs of the mind and spirit! Also even though I LOVE nicknacks, I cannot let myself get sucked into bringing any home as our home is not large. Oh btw!! almost forgot to tell you, I found a pack of 2 of those blue dryer balls in an XSCargo store here for 2 bucks. I also bought a giant bottle of white vinegar for $1.19 and am going to start that experiment of using the vinegar in the rinse cycle. I used a ball in one dryer load...kind of noisy as it rattles around, but if it saves me buying dryer bars anymore I will love it!
geesh! I just saw the rep message. ( thanks so much for offering) I am good though. I stocked up on the bags when RCSS had a no tax day and a fab sale price to boot! I do have one from the insert that I will use eventually though.
I agree, that kind of purchase is not something you'd buy off the back of a truck in a parking lot! ( lol) I know what you are saying ....reputable. I never even told DH because he is such a carnivore! he'd be drooling at the thought of all those cuts of meat in the house. These days with the frequent brown outs and black outs I would also worry about losing an entire freezer full of meat. That would be a big loss.
Mmmmm...I remember bacon. lol.....geesh! I have a guy living across the street from me since I've lived here ( 26 yrs ) he is sort of a Jack of ALL trades, but a butcher too said that he will cut me up beautiful steaks and roasts but it has to be in one bulk order.....either a 1/4 or 1/2 of a cow ?? He quoted me a price years ago and I remember just laughing at him. Top notch beef he says... whatever?? I told him I do not have his kind of money NOR do I have the freezer space. Nice enough fellow to shoot the sh*t with plus I was his mail lady for years here too, but he has always seemed like a guy with a little con on the side going on, always looking to turn a buck. That is where the neighbourly/friendly part suffers I think, you never know if you are just a client to him or if he is sincere.
real " nature " with all its messy poopy eggs and stuff is something most of the public does not want to face. ha ha Just like the slaughterhouse thing, I still feel so guilty that I eat and love meat even after watching the films, even after feeling so torn over the conditions under which they are raised just to be killed for our consumption. Oh sometimes I am a walking contradiction! ( me with my liver and onions addiction )
honestly it is something I have never heard mentioned before ( the staleness of grocery store eggs ) I also had no idea an egg could keep 6 months in the fridge! wow, something fresh having that kind of shelf life eh? amazing.
wah!!!! I used to get farm fresh eggs about 10 years ago. I had no idea store boughts were that old!! Now I am ticked. Maybe I'll ask DH to see if that fellow at work still gets them farm eggs? Thanks!!
darn it, eggs are one of the things I am out of now, ha ha .
oh!! Well then Chance was a beauty! My doggies are Rufus ( over 10 now, and my avatar pic ) and Murphy ( about 8 1/2 ). I like posting under the best " deal of the week " thread that my OOP is zero, it is intentional again from refusing to go to the store for 3 days. Saves me tons, lol. I find if I am out of one thing I used to run out, then overspend on crap I do not need, so I am waiting till Friday again. lol
Aw, that was a long life he had! Chance...what a great name! ( not like the 2 stupid names DH and I came up with for our very first 2 cats, brothers. Red and Blackie....I'll give you 2 guesses what colour they were? ha ha ha Your dainty one might be only 8 lbs. but if that is her pic I saw ( very fluffy? smokey greys and white? ) she is so pretty!
Actually I often weep quietly to myself at how huge Hamlet is. Who would have thought he would grow larger ( both taller and longer ) than Claudius? Makes me wish I had taken many more wee kitten pics now. You do realize he thinks he is a Puma or something right? The way he sashays around and intimidates my poor dogs. He HAS to be in whatever room I am in....always! When I wake up to pee, ( at least 2 times during the night, lol ) he jumps out of my bed and follows me to and from the washroom! As I am typing this he is under the desk on a stool near my knees! ( I love him to pieces )
oh ours too, both cats and the dogs, We work around what they want! lol For example, that wooden/screened cathouse enclosure DH built and hung outside off the kitchen window.....well the central A/C was on last night and today, and who would not stop meowing until I opened the window for them to sit out in there? Hamlet! I gave in, knowing full well that the warm air coming inside was defeating the purpose of the A/C
yes! That was how I got turned on to many foods I never would have bought or attempted to cook. It is all trial and error isn't it? I " napped " for too long, so guess I'll be awake now into the wee hours again.
oh we are big ol fish people now!! Used to be just DH and I but FINALLY the last 2 here love it the way I do it ( just the frozen raw fillets thawed, then really squeezed dry, and lightly coated with GF flour/spices pan fried in butter! ) Mmmm, just made myself hungry again.
well that sucks. I am lol though because you reminded me that all 3 of my kids have never touched any raw meat! They have been spoiled. Oh they watch, they see me stuff the birds, trim the beef, batter the fish, squish the burger mixture for patties and meatballs, but ask them to help and they heave! Even my DS on his own HATES to ever have to touch any, avoids it by buying it all cooked! ha ha ha
just watched mandella with my DD, it was a long movie! I'll keep ya posted on my laundry adventures. Boo! to mosquitoes.
