I think your new year's resolution is quite impressive. I like the part, "I've decide to start living only for me, and for those super close to me". I think people always enter and leave one's life as per their needs. But don't let any not-so-impressive past experience/releationship effect your future events. Some new ones will just make you feel better about yourself or simply proud of who you are. Good luck!
