I imagine at this time of the year some of it would be local-you could call your local co-ordinator and ask.
That's more than $50 that's like $100.. So it's like 1/4 of the cost which is amazing... I have been getting the good food box every month for almost 2 years and we love it... It's always really good quality stuff and they often give more than you 40lbs. Great post. :)
My family tried this for the first time in June. We got the Large box and it fed my family of 5. We are thinking of getting 2 large boxes next time so we can can some. Everything was fresh and nice. I would recommend this for sure.
I ordered it once yrs ago, and we weren't impressed with the freshness of what we received. Our melon was almost rotten, and other things were past their prime... has anyone else noticed this, or was our one-time purchase "the lemon" purchase??
You can also sign up for local farms to get similar boxes so -you're supporting local, and making sure the farmer is the one getting their fair share, not the middle man. It's called "Community Supported Agriculture" and I was up at one farm this past weekend that has it. here's a link to this specific farm, but I'm sure there are many more:

Know of anything like this in Airdrie?
Hi...,
Nice post.I will must be use this program.
It is the best and a very reasonable way to get fresh fruit and veggies.
Nice sharing.
I always get this...very good program!
I just ordered my 1st one, cant wait to get it :)
and it looks like it's more people who can't afford to buy food at normal price. I am not sure if I'll be taking advantage of it. I like to save money because I am also taking care of my mom and my brother (one's on AISH and the other is retired with out much cpp because she worked min wage jobs for the last 15 years since her English is not great) but at the same time while I am still working I shouldn't have problem with buying food but I might once I go on Mat. leave without digging into savings. Can people who got a box last month let me know what's in the box and how fresh the food is ? I know they only have them once a month but will these things last a month or will you have to go out and buy just the same but you just need to buy less.
