I am having a hard time finding some of these awesome grocery coupons that Scers are using for some of their brag hauls. I know about brandsaver.ca and save.ca, but they are mostly for toiletries and candles that I don't really buy a lot of. Any tips would be great. Thx!

You are having a hard time bcoz there are coupon hoarders ( whom I hate ) who take the entire coupon pad whenever its displayed @ any store .
These people have absolutely no intention or desire to buy that product , they ONLY take the whole lot bcoz they want to trade/sell these coupons..( more often than not they don't even manage to that & the coupons expire )..neither they benefit from these coupons nor do they let other genuine customers who would have bought that product with the coupon if the coupon was still on display .
I only take coupons of products ( that too only a couple or so for each product ) when I am certain I will be using them down the road or on the very same day .
Its not illegal but I think/feel its extremely immoral/unethical to just hoard coupons just for the sake of it or for trading purposes only ...coupon etiquette is extremely necessary so that we can all benefit from the coupons .
I have personally seen people taking entire coupon pads ( something even I could have easily done but didn't want to do & will never do ) & putting them in their bags .
Lot of coupons get wasted / or expire bcoz of this hoarding mentality of some people .Last edited by tjthemanto; Sun, Apr 18th, 2010 at 03:34 AM.

Try Safeway. Everytime I go to Safeway, there are always tons of food coupons!
As for hoarders, how can they not have any conscience? I only take one or two coupons, so that other people can benefit from the coupons too.

I find that smaller stores.. of the bigger chain food companies have coupons. I guess it depends on the area, and if someone in that area is a coupon user or hoarder.. your out of luck, i found one good store that has coupons all the time, a metro store and its a smaller one in a VERY posh area so it always has coupons..!
I really need 8 Dempsters PINS will need until FEB 15 and will trade for G.C $5 your choice where

I think there could be a number of reasons you don't seem to find coupons. Coupon hoarders (pad stealers) don't help but I'm not sure how much they make a difference in the places I visit.
I've done very well in most Safeway stores and IGA, Shoppers Drugmart and Nester's Markets. The Rexalls I've searched in are okay sometime and I find a few in Zellers and Walmart. Still, there can be some stores that just don't seem to ever have coupons. I know I would be shocked to find even one coupon in the Safeway store at Robson and Denman in Vancouver. And yet, a few blocks away at the Safeway on Davie Street there are lots most of the time.
Coupons come in waves, too. So, timing is everything. Try to visit the stores frequently, even if you just pop in for a few minutes for a quick scan. See this thread for an idea of when some new Smartsource coupons are supposed to be appearing in stores:
http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/133231-...d-pics-canada/
If and when you do notice new coupons being around, try to take note of when it was and if you want to get some more (without being greedy) then don't delay getting back to the store for too long because sometimes the coupons are just popular and they get picked up, mostly in a legitimate fashion.
And of course, I probably don't have to mention this but, really look carefully. Sometimes I've found coupon pads on the very bottom shelf edge and other times it's at the very top. I've found coupons INSIDE the freezer sections that were all but invisible unless you were really looking closely. Coupon pads are sometimes left ON a shelf by the product, like maybe they got knocked off and somebody just put it back.
Perhaps another idea is to just ask the customer service or some staff. They should be able to tell you (if they have coupons and where they are) and should be happy to. Good luck!

I will take a bunch of coupons if there is more than 1 full tear pad displayed but I would never take the whole pad or go through the store taking all the pads just so I could trade them.
