Everyone ought to check their provincial or territorial health plan to see if minors get their eye examinations covered. In Ontario, under 18s can get a comprehensive eye exam at the eye doctor's practice covered by the provincial health plan. No need to wait for that school test (grade 5 or 6) to find out if the child has any vision issues.
