So a different kind of freebie for us Winnipeggers.

I found this site somehow, maybe via another blog, cant remember where.

    http://www.fruitshare.ca/

This is a freebie for both homeowner and picker. What this organization does is match up homeowners with excess fruit on thier trees or bushes etc. with pickers. Pickers and homeowners both sign up on the site so they can be matched up.
The pickers come pick the fruit for free and then they give 1/3 to the homeowner ( if they want it) 1/3 to the pickers and 1/3 to a charity of pickers choice!

3 winners all around! I know we all see yards with fruit laying on the ground going to waster. Please pass this site on your family, friends, neighbour groups etc. May be a bit late for this year but for next year lets see how much more fruit us SCers can share with our community!

If anyone is interested they are calling for volunteer pickers for crab apples. Contact them via thier website. I just got the email today.
