I haven't...
But I understand it can be a very hard decision to make. There are some websites and forums around which might help.

It was a very hard decision, and took alot of late night conversations between us before the decision was made. But things actually have been alot calmer since. Its nice.

this is one of the forums I was talking about
http://forum.canadianparents.com/ubb...&Number=873719
maybe you and dh need to look for other sites like this to
1) decide what you want/need to do as a couple/family
2) how best to do it
Only you know the problems and until you post them I really can't give you much help apart from internet support.
{{{Hugs}}} families are always a problem...

I have done this now for a few months...tried and went to a psycologist with them but they still are not getting it, so the Dr recommended I move on. It is so hard because they live across the road!

I almost did...but learned great coping strategies instead.
I would strongly recommend you speak with a few professionals (if you haven't already) before making any huge decisions.

Yep, I did almost 22 years ago. Banished that thing that spawned me and my life has peaceful and quiet ever since. I do not have to contend with her nasty remarks, put downs or set ups. My DH laughs because I often say when that old biddy dies, I am going to wear a red dress to the funeral and drive a stake through her heart just to make sure. Bitter, not anymore. She used to beat me when I was a child and she "helped" me down basement stairs when I was 6. I was hospitalized that time. Crazy biatch.

Yea actually he cut out both parents as well as a few family members attached to them.
We tried everything possible to make things bearable for him, and tolerated alot of drama before that. I told him I was okay with whatever decision he made, although I did kind of push for him to stay connected to his family at first. But in the end he decided they were toxic.
And they were.<3<3 My girls are my wold <3<3

I didn't exactly cut them out.. but after a nasty incident at one point during the holidays.. we did not speak to any family members for about 2 years. however the 'peace' between my parents and myself only last over a year until i found out i nearly lost them both in an accident.. that taught me to appreciate what *I* at least have.. not shortly after we lost hubbies Dad.. life is just to short for us.
