But the shopping trip that I was most excited about this week happened today when I took advantage of the 18500 Optimum points when you spend $75. I'm expecting my second child in 6 short weeks and I've been stocking up on diapers like a mad woman. I carefully organized my VIB points and diaper coupons and I'm so happy with my numbers...

Optimum Points….

BP WUS $40 on Baby = 8000
VIB BP = 11000
BP WUB $75 = 18500
Total points earned during visit: 41810
I've only been at this couponing and price matching game since the beginning of November so I'm still learning all the tricks of the trade. Although I've been collecting Optimum points for years it's only been recently that I've attempted to strategize my shopping days (and avoid the store as much as possible on non-20x points event days). I redeemed once in November for a bunch of free diapers and since then I've collected almost enough points for two big redemptions - and I don't feel like I've caved to the 'shopping for points' mindset either. Yes Fresco is great and where I shop they are always very pleased to price match, never a problem, so nice to not have to haggle at all. Only 2 months at couponing? You are doing fabulous - isn't saving money great?

It's incredibly addictive, but I think that I'm finally coming into my own and doing it the way that it makes sense for me and my family. We're hoping to cut down our spending enough this year to pay off our credit card debts and save enough for one major home repair. So far, so good!
