Great for fighting back and winning. We had similar problem with Advantage rental here. They charged 500 on our credit card after the car was returned and they said no damage when we returned but a day later they called to say we had damaged the car. We didn't have any paper after we dropped off the car, otherwise would have been easy. Well went to Small claims and won but they wouldn't pay back. Long story short we ended up getting around 350 or 400 back and learned a lesson that never rent from companies like them and always get them to sign the contract after you return the car that there was no damage and no further charges would be put through. Since then we have always gone with Enterprise and have had no problems.

You can also "dispute a claim" by calling the credit card company.
The credit card company will do this for you - freeze the charge so it does not go through

I don't blame you for fighting tooth & nail. That's crazy how some companies are underhanded & scam ppl. You are so right, they didn't know they were messing with Shawa girl..I'm very Leary of car rental companies but like enterprise.

YOU GO GIRL!!!! I'm really happy that you stood your ground! So many companies get away with that kind of crap. Whenever we rent a car I ALWAYS go over it with a fine tooth comb, writing down every little scratch. We've been caught in that scam before and learned the hard way. AND, you're so right, paper trail, paper trail, paper trail. My dh will sometimes ask me why I don't bother picking up the phone, "wouldn't it be easier" he says. Nope.....paper trail

Wow ..can't believe how they can charge the next day for some posters after clearly telling them NO damage , when you return the car.

Huge scam ..the CC company should not even be putting that charge through.

Good for you. It is so bad these days. Lots of peoples are greedy and are out there to abuse costomers any way they can, to get our $$$ and that is really sad. We tried the Credit Card Company but they wouldn't reverse the charge because we never bother getting the signed form back from them. We dropped off the car, did the walk through with them, they told us everything was fine, we left the paper, didn't know would need it. When the charges went through, we called the rental but they just stuck to you damaged our car, the credit company said we needed the form to prove that they signed off on it with no damage so ended up going to the small claims court and took long time to settle because the rental company would not show up and if they showed up, they would try to delay it etc.

I know some people have had trouble with smaller companies, so we thought it would be o.k.
