    Erg this post is a mess.. But here it goes.

    Why oh why, did I wait till June of this year to join the Shoppers Optimum Club? Never again will I ever buy a gaming console, tablet or X technological gadget anywhere else but shoppers. I just made both my kids dreams come true, well they will when Christmas finally gets here. The best thing is, it barely cost me anything. it goes something like this:

    Son wants PS4 Bundle
    Daughter wants Samsung Galaxy Tab 4

    PS4 = 449.99+5.00 = 454.99
    Tab = 189.99+1.50 = 191.49
    Subtotal of 646.48
    Tax =84.04
    TOTAL with tax = 730.52 (ignoring the fact I bought about 70 bucks in food and liter)

    Optimum Points break down....

    7300 Base points - Load Gift Card with Shopper Credit Card
    10950 Points - Bonus Credit Card Points (not shown on receipt but debited to card monthly)
    6460 Base Points - When Spending Gift Cards (Can't get bonus points on taxes here.)
    122740 19x 6460 points (20x bonus promotion)
    _______

    147450 TOTAL Points worth Between 300 and 400 dollars depending on promotions you choose to use. (lets just say $300 and low ball it!)

    Now the fun part.

    My wife (who knows nothing about optimum) agree's to pay 50% of The Total $730 / 2 = $365 Back in my pocket... Does this make me naughty?

    or

    $730 Out of my pocket
    $365 Back in from my Dear Wife
    $300 Back in From Shoppers Because they are amazing.. Thank you.

    Which means for the lovely sum of $65 dollars I just went splits with my wife on my kids dream Christmas presents. (and if I choose my promotions wisely, I can get that to zero.)

    Gota love Shoppers eh?

    HAHA! It was much fun, and goodness no... We must keep this a secret at all costs, preferably hers.

    The only downside, is I still have not got my personalized coupons this week. I fear I'm being punished due to my thriftiness?

    Maybe use some of your points to buy your wife a nice gift of perfume or high end cosmetics and then your wife will think you are awesome and help butter her up if she finds out about the points

    Wow, I never tough of doing this that way. Thank you for the lesson as I have to buy some kind of gaming machine(I dont know nothing about that) for my Hubby for XMass. My son will be helping me on that one. I sure hope to do as well as you.

    I suggest the same thing as Scouponer:

    Great shop!

    I don't often shop at SDM these days, but DS has been asking for a Nintendo DS. We've never bought him a gaming thing of his own, and he's been a pretty good kid lately, so we decided we'd buy one (although I have a bit of buyer's remorse, thinking i should have saved it for Christmas). I shopped around, all the stores seems to be $129 for the 2DS, but when I saw that SDM had 20x times the points, that made it a much better deal. I got $30 in points back from the 20x promo.

    I didn't buy a GC to pay for it this time, they've been total arses about it in the past (more than once I've been told I can't do it), so it wasn't worth the hassle for another 1200 points.

    My DS wants a 3DS too but haven't quite decided if it will make Santa's list yet...

    I have had that problem with cashiers and GC's too but I ask them to just humor me. Works every time and they are no longer surprised.
