We're OK. Everything is ok. However my Cuizen brand deep fryer caught fire the other night. I emailed the company about this *issue* and asked what they wanted me to do. I received this reply:
Hello,
In response to your inquiry, Please call this number * *** *** **** between the hours of 9:30am and 5:00pm(e.s.t.) and a Cuizen Customer Service representative will be glad to assist you with any issue you may have with our product.
Thank you.
Best Regards
I feel so brushed off I haven't even called yet. Ugh.
Hopefully, a photo:

Wow..that's nuts.
Once I saw a Turkey deep fryer go up in flames at a friends BBQ. Luckily it was one of the outdoor ones & we were outdoors at that time..in his backyard.
I think the fryer was OK , the guy who was deep frying accidently spilled oil everywhere on the fryer while removing the Turkey and the heat & the flames did the rest

I think CBC or other networks would love this as a news filler.

I think the name "Cuizen" should have probably been a warning sign that this might not be a quality well built product. Thankfully your home and occupants didn't get deep fried as well!

And have to wait for a call back! They want the machine back and will likely cover the cost to ship it to them, but because I don't have my receipt, I may have to pay to have it shipped back to me. For that, I'd be better off buying a new one. Sigh, will update after a phone call.

Find it really annoying regarding the receipt thing. You are reporting a safety issue, not complaining about something petty. These companies should be thanking their lucky stars that they didn't injure someone so badly that they have a law suit on their hands. I don't care what brand any product is...safety should be a priority. I don't expect to get the same quality in a knock off brand of tv as I would with a sony but if it caught fire this is an issue.
